What customers say
Friendly, well-situated spot with generous, serviced sites. Gordon the warden is a star! Upgrades mean some facilities are a bit dated, but clean. Expect occasional building noise. Great for exploring, good transport.

This is a beautiful and peaceful site yet a few minutes drive to Newcastle.
Three pubs in the village 15 min walk away only the pub at the train station allows dogs inside but they were really lovely there.
Little friendly village shop with plenty of essentials and more. (Closes for lunch so keep this in mind).
Bus stop and train station 15 min walk away so able to take day off driving .. Hexham was lovely (£6 return).
The warden is a lovely knowledgeable fella .
The toilets and shower block are very old skool but clean and well maintained.
Lovely hot shower and a good washing up area.
I hope to come back once the site is finished and see how it looks.

Liked Excellent stay, we got a warm welcome and advised on the local area, places to eat, where the station was and local walks.
Disliked The steps down to the Toilet block were uneven but they are upgrading the Site so these will probably be on the list to fix.
Not a good phone or wifi signal.

Liked Very friendly Warden. Lots of Space, Easy access to bus route. Read Reviews beforehand and bought myself some pegs for hard ground, unnecessary as the ground was fine.
Maintenance to improve the site was in progress but as i stayed over the weekend i didn't have any issues.

Liked nothing
Disliked We were extremely disappointed. Besides ending up in a construction site, the toilet, shower, sink, and chemical disposal area were filthy, dirty, and poorly maintained. So dirty that we couldn't use any of the facilities. We paid £38.50 for one night with our campervan. The campsite owner's abuse of the booking office was truly scandalous.

Liked Gordon the warden was so friendly and helpful, the site is well located to walk into the village
Disliked As previously mentioned in other reviews the toilet block is extremely old with limited facilities but immaculate. The site was quiet when we were there but could be an issue if the site is busy as only one shower
There is building work going on that could impact on your stay
