Grass pitches

  • Spacious pitches on the Dorset coast, overlooking Chesil Beach
  • A 10-minute drive to central Weymouth; 15 mins to Isle of Portland
  • On-site bar for drinks and food; play area and playing field
You’ll be able to squeeze the maximum amount of sea air out of your Dorset coastal break when you stay at East Fleet Farm Touring Park – this spectacular location is on the shores of the Fleet Lagoon, with views over Chesil Beach to the open sea beyond. Having sea views from the site means that you may be tempted to hang around on your pitch, put your feet up and simply take in the scenery for much of your break. And that’s not a bad idea at all – pitches are generously sized, with access to a play area and playing field for kids that may need a bit more activity. The well-stocked shop has various camping/caravan accessories and consumables, and it’s also the place to pick up a newspaper and an ice cream to take back to your camping chair. For more substantial eats, head to the on-site bar, which has an extensive food menu as well as a range of local drinks. It really is worth making the effort to get out and about locally though: there are some stunning walks on the South West Coast Path (which passes next to the site) and plenty of places to go for a bike ride. Weymouth and Dorchester are easily accessed too, as are the watersports of Portland and attractions such as Abbotsbury Swannery.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked: The pictures were great, lovely atmosphere, beautiful location, and really, plenty to do there! Brilliant restaurant, excellent shop, in the evening bar entertainment/pizza is just another sprinkle on the cake!

Disliked: My pitch was a little unlevel, but solvable so no issue. Watch the speed bumps on the road on the way in. They are not always easy to see.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked: All very clean and tidy very busy due to being a bank Holiday but still not noisy. We asked to move our 1st pitch on arrival as it was right opposite the kids play park. And whilst we don't have anything against children ours are all grown up now and having a dog with us we felt the dog would be overly excited by all the kids playing and make a nuisance of himself. Although they where fully booked they manages to switch our pitch to another fully serviced pitch. We will definitely recommend and visit again ourselves as we are fairly local. Maybe avoiding a bank Holiday. The showering blocks where very clean and individual, equipped with toilet and washbasin which is ideal especially for family etc. Unfortunately there was often a long queue if you just wanted to use the toilet. All staff where very polite, helpful and friendly. The bar and resteraunt was good and a well stocked large shop. Very dog friendly, and if you are more mobile than me lots of lovely walks.

Disliked: There were very few disabled facilities in the area we were. The toilets were very low with no rail etc to help with getting on and off which I found a challenge. Having said that I didn't specify any special needs when booking so my mistake. The shop is large and I challenge you not to find anything for your needs. I would of liked a few more options for meal options.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: What a lovely site! They had thought of everything! Close to the everything you needed! Park was 'awesome' in my daughters words and the shop had everything you needed. Staff were friendly and check in was so easy! There was live music which was fantastic! There was an Adli to minutes drive which was really handy! A visit to the lighthouse in Portland is a must!

Disliked: Drinks at the pub were expensive! And food in the shop although lovely, it was really pricey!

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Greeted by friendly staff to a well organised Family/dog family site from arrivals to pitching up.

A welcome pack was provided on arrival with an allocated pitch number with codes to the secure site barrier.

A few shower/toilet/cleaning blocks which were very clean. The shop catered for everything you may need.

Very close to Fleet bay, perfect for coastal walks. Short drive to Portland and Weymouth.

Disliked: Nothing

Easy check-in, well stocked shop and lively bar.
Two very easy to get to dog walking routes.
A good, clean wash house

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Almost everything,

Disliked: The way dogs dominated the eating/drinking areas,to the extent that one dog was lying on one of the food tables and its owner was vaping blatantly indoors.

Local attractions

Can’t keep your eyes off the sea views? Pick up the South West Coast Path at the bottom end of the park, or head for favourite spots along the Jurassic Coast like West Bay (half an hour’s drive) and Lulworth Cove (35 minutes). The Isle of Portland (15 minutes) is also a great place for a walk, and it’s also got lots of watersports including windsurfing, coasteering and scuba diving. Weymouth (10 minutes) is another perennial favourite for its lovely sandy beach and attractions like the Sea Life Centre and Pirate Adventure Golf. You can also get to the town on two wheels by picking up the Weymouth Trail cycle route from the bridleway by the site (or follow the full nine-mile trail up into the hills…) Other options for days out nearby include Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens (15 minutes), Vurlands Animal Farm (20 minutes) or an arty afternoon at Sculpture By The Lakes (half an hour).
