喜欢: Nice view if you are close to the lake!

不喜欢: I’ve paid pitch with gravel and grass , we’ve got a small pitch just with gravel, when we started the arguments they tried to change with another pitch when someone else cancelled.
No staff present on arrival to show you where is your pitch, I’ve spoken over the phone with same one (Nikki) - very unprofessional and poorly raised!

喜欢: First time since I brought my caravan we decided too not go far very clean site toilet and shower was spotless and the manager Nicki was a lovely helpful lady will return soon

喜欢: We went with a tent because it was advertised on their website as a site suitable for camping. We expected a little green space and a little bit of privacy. You can also take an awning or gazebo but there’s no space for that.

It is however a caravan site, intended for caravans with an awning or tent. Those who came with caravans seemed happy enough.

The pitches are gravel, hard ground and a rectangle of grass. Check dimensions if you are pitching a tent. There is no privacy as you are squashed and extremely close to your neighbours.

We pitched one afternoon, even though we were booked for 4 nights, we were gone by 8am the next day and booked in to another site.

I’ve camped all my life but I’ve never experienced such horrible attitudes of people on a site. We were the only tent on site and got comments to our face, loudly as people passed and whilst we were pitching about how unwelcome we were as we were tent only. We were told we shouldn’t be there by other people holidaying to the point where we felt so uncomfortable to just sit outside. I’ve never experienced this before.

What with the uncomfortable closeness of pitches and being so unfriendly we left.

I will say this wasn’t management who were unfriendly, we didn’t talk to them much at all so have no complaints about them. However I don’t think they could’ve done anything to change our minds from leaving

不喜欢: It looks like a car park, there is not much green space and pitches are squashed in uncomfortably close. There is a lake but barely any space. There’s no where for kids to run or play really.

Toilet blocks were clean but had no hot water, so there were no showers that could be used. Many others were in the toilet blocks having the same issue. For the price you would expect this not to be a problem.

Noise and music was so loud from pub or community centre across the street. It went on for most the evening in to the early hours.

喜欢: Stayed in a roof tent.
Welcomed by the site manager (Nicki) and was made to feel welcomed a very quiet and clean site.
Toilet and shower facilities are good there’s washing machines and dryers available.

A site So close to the boating lake, beach and lido with small town where the locals are very friendly.
You even get visiting ducks come over to see you.
Lovely old harbour with river tours available and plenty of pubs/restaurants providing fine food.

Will be booking again

喜欢: Water and electric on pitch, loos and shower block, clean and tidy. Washing machines and dryer, 2 washing up sinks all immaculate
Site easy walking to estuary, town, shops and pubs. Staff on site friendly and welcoming.

不喜欢: Flies and bugs, being next to still water can bring in the bugs, all OK if prepared for them. Swats at the ready 😆

喜欢: Great location overlooking boating lake and 5 min walk to the beach and 5 min walk to Brightlingsea with lots of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants.

喜欢: We had a lovely view of the colourful beach huts from our lakeside pitches. The site is located a short walk from the town centre and minutes away from pubs, shops, the museum, cafe and takeaways.

The pitches are a good size with a large grass area and have water supply and electric hook up.

We found it to be a really quiet and peaceful place to stay

Watching the ducks coming for a wander around the park and swimming on the lake with the swans added to our enjoyment.

不喜欢: Not really a dislike, just an observation that some may not enjoy..... One of the showers in the ladies was not very hot, but to be honest this did not impact on our stay personally.

不喜欢: Shower block needs updating, not a secure site , people walk through campsite and cars drive round
