Site and facilities were spotless ,
Powered concrete and grass site
Liked Natasha was extremely helpful and friendly, nothing was to much trouble.
From the manager: Thanks David for taking the time to leave a review, it honestly means the world to us.
We are so pleased you enjoyed your time here and hope to welcome you back soon.
Excellent site clean facilities, shame about the grass cuttings.

Liked Really great welcome, felt extremely welcomed all weekend. The toilet block is clean and well maintained. The directions are clear.
Disliked I would have given 10 out of 10 if it was not for the grass cuttings. It would be great if that could be reduced as it got everywhere.
Excellent site, very peaceful and great facilities.

Liked Fantastic, peaceful location with excellent facilities. The toilets were clean and well equipped and the showers were lovely. Again very clean and great adjustable temperature. Also not a push button shower like some sites so stayed on as long as you were in there. Natasha, the owner, is lovely. So friendly, nothing would be too much trouble I'm sure. There's a fridge for campers to use as well as a pot washing station and chemical toilet emptying area (we didn't need this except for using the hosepipe to wash one of our dogs off) There's a little shop which sells basics and some hand made craft things, this wasn't open much when we were there but Natasha's phone number is on posters and you can call her if you need to use it. There's a lovely dog walking area straight off the camp with a large field that the dogs can run free in and a small river at the bottom, in a little area of woodland, where the dogs can have a paddle and cool off. The pitch itself was massive. No 'keep within the lines' and the electric hook up worked fine. Pitch is on a slight gradient but very flat/smooth ground so we weren't sleeping in any dips and bumps etc. All in all it was a fab 5 days and we loved every minute. We will definitely be visiting again.
Disliked Horse flies, but not a lot you can do about them.
Very clean toilets n shower

Hidden Gem

Liked Everything!!
Received a very warm welcome on arrival from Natasha who explained what had changed since our last visit(aug 2023 with previous owners) which includes a small onsite shop selling a few bits and bobs(More stock to come shortly) a new shower and toilet which were all kept tidy and clean throughout our stay - the water pressure in the showers is better than i have had in some hotels!! Natasha is a fantastic host and nothing was too much trouble even our very inquisitive 7 year old daughter who grew very fond of Natasha during our stay, she was always just a call/text away and was very prompt with anything we needed. Was also nice to chat away with a like minded individual and made you feel at home throughout!
Hiring a firepit is a must if like us you love to watch the stars and all the things required for a fire can be purchased onsite.
The pitches were of good size and seemed well looked after, and although the site was quiet i cant see it being crammed if at capacity unlike some sites i've previously visited.
Theres a field and a wooded area you can walk and explore with your four legged friends and/or children which was especially nice to get out of the blazing heat of the past week!
Is located down a track from the road so there isn't really any road noise. The only real noises you hear are from the farmers in the neighbouring fields but this is expected in this sort of area and being big clarkson farm fans we actually enjoyed sitting there and watching them at work!!
Nearby Holsworthy has a few different shops and a waitrose and if you venture further afield to Bude you'll find everything else you need. Bude is also home to some awesome beaches and i can recommend duckpool beach which is about 30mins drive and a national trust car park so if you are members it doesn't cost anything. Some epic sunsets can be seen from here aswell!!
Nearby Roadford Lake and Lyford Gorge is also a must if you have the time and thats your sort of thing!!
Now to probably the best part!! The horses!! Although they aren't Natasha's she helps looks after them and even let our daughter and myself brush and groom the horses which was a treat in itself but an even bigger treat was in store on our final morning we woke up and realised during the night one of the mares had given birth and there was a foal only a few hours old looking at us from no more than 10 ft!! I swear Natasha timed it perfectly it try and entice us to stay longer (we'd already booked an extra 2 nights whilst there) and would have succeeded had we not needed to get back to the real world and work!!!
This site really is a hidden gem and once you go it will pull you back time and time again. so much so we are already planning our next visit in the coming months!
Disliked Packing up and leaving then the long drive home regretting not staying forever lol
From the manager: Hey Nicky,
WOW!!! Where to start...firstly thank you so much for leaving a review, it really does mean the world to us.
It was lovely meeting you and the family and we are so glad that you had such a great time. I know the mare having the foal in front of your pitch was very special and I am so pleased that the bribery worked lol. Spirit is doing incredibly well and is growing up fast, we would love to welcome you back to see the ponies (and Spirit), as well as the doggies.
Hopefully by the next time you visit, there will be a few more animals for you help look after.
Thanks again Nicky for the review, love to all the family xxx
A great place to stay!

Liked We were greeted as soon as we arrived by the camp owners and were happily welcomed - they gave us a brief over view of the campsite and where to find anything. They gave us a number to call if we needed anything at all during our stay. Because it rained heavy the first night we couldn’t use our fire pit but as soon as the weather picked up on our second evening as soon as we called up they answered and the fire pit was with us within minutes. The campsite itself was lovely and clean, the showers had amazing pressure and temperature! They had 2 horses that you could say hello to throughout the stay which was lovely and it has great views from the campsite field.
From the manager: Hey Victoria,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, it really does mean a lot to us.
We are so pleased you enjoyed your time here, despite the weather!!
A couple of days after you left, a mare came to stay in the field and she gave birth to a beautiful little filly.
We hope we can welcome back to Hollocombe in the future, you would be very welcome.

Liked Loved everything about the site, especially the very lovely owners of the site. Nothing was too much trouble if we asked anything and we just adored the peaceful setting and views from our pitch.
The shower and toilet block was top class, clean and well topped up with toilet rolls etc. loved the water pressure in the showers too.
The silence of no busy roads was just perfect on top of every other perfect thing at this campsite.
Thank you!
