What customers say
Great location, friendly check-in, café a hit. Downsides: poor signage, staff absent on arrival, distant facilities, early equestrian noise, pricey bar. Some felt facilities didn't match cost.

It holds horse shows, so idea if you love horses.

Liked Food was great. The staff was very nice and helpful.
Disliked We booked hard standing and ehu, they over booked so we end up with grass and no ehu. They did give us a free meal and drink as we couldn't cook with out electric. The alcohol drinks were expensive but nice. Thier were kids running around and screaming till after 11pm, and cars going pass all night which was keeping me awake. I won't be booking here again.

Good campsite. This is similar to…
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Good campsite. This is similar to other institutions like rowing clubs or marinas, where they already have showers and toilets, and have some land that they can use in the summer for a campsite.
This can mean the showers are not right next to the campsite, and there is no washing up area, but also means there are other facilities available. With this equestrian centre, there is a very good cafe, you can watch the equestrian events, and there is a woodland area that is part of the estate. I used it as a base to visit Chester and Liverpool. I liked it and would use again.

Will not be coming back.

Liked It was nice to see the show jumping in the arena on the Saturday afternoon.
Disliked The campsite is right next to the A54, which is BUSY! Very busy. Trucks, motorbikes, cars, vans - all thundering past at all hours. If you want a peaceful retreat for a night or two, don't come here. Getting any sleep is almost impossible. Bring your earplugs!
Also, the toilets are a good 10 minute walk from the campsite, in the main reception block for the equestrian centre, unless, of course, you want to brave the solitary portaloo on site!

Great site near to Chester.
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Great little camping spot for close proximity to the City of Chester and Delamare Forest and the Sandstone trail for walks. The equestrian centre is a very interesting venue, we stood and watched a couple of rounds of the show jumping event, quite exciting and very well organised. The eatery looked great although we didn't try it. Very clean portaloo on the field. Great shower and toilet block a short walk around the centre. Dog friendly site. Aldi not too far a drive away
Disliked The nearby road was a little noisy with motorbikes through the day but it quietened down at night.

Had a great long weekend stay. Beautiful site and great price
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Staff were very friendly. The camping section was small but plenty of space and with the gates shut at all times was very secure.
The showers and toilets were extremely nice and clean. The showers had good power with hot water at all times.
Loved waking up each morning and having horses in the field opposite and also out on the track right outside the tent.
The views were great too. Down to the valley and the woods. Great paths for walks around the centre. The dog loved it too.
There was a port-a-loo at the too of the field which was handy through the night. Extremely clean.
Loved the site. And a great price
Disliked The water point was behind the gates that were shut so had to climb under the electric fence, until I realised there was another water point behind a caravan.

Liked Horses !
Disliked The facilities which are so far away and that we share with equestrians and which are thus very dirty plus no sink for washing up the dishes.

Liked Nice views and seeing the horses
Disliked No facilities, 1 outside tap and 1 portaloo, no communication from the owners. Also by a very busy road, noisy at night
