What customers say
This community-run campsite is praised for its excellent, modern facilities and friendly, helpful staff. Its picturesque riverside location offers pleasant walks into Wick town. While pitches are generally spacious and well-maintained, some visitors noted the temporary facilities required upgrading, though new facilities are planned. The site is considered a great base for exploring the NC500 and surrounding areas.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (backpacker, motorcyclist, no cars)
Liked Really great site with sitting area and plugs for campers. The people who work there are lovely. Showers and facilities very clean
Disliked Pitch was very muddy and went onto a playground so all we could hear were kids until late at night and early in the morning which wasn’t great :(

From the manager: Thank you for the review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you back again sometime in the future.
I am not sure which Pitch near the play park was muddy? We have had a lot of rain lately so possibly the ground is softer than normal. As we say to all of our guests, if you are unhappy with your pitch for some reason, please come and see the wardens at reception and they will do their utmost to move you to another pitch.
Highly recommend using this as a base to visit the surrounding area.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch
Liked The shop was lovely. And staff very friendly.
Disliked The facilities were very busy and as a result not very clean. Also people continually walked across our pitch. We ended our stay after 1 night instead of staying the three we had booked for these reasons and the very large amount of midgies

From the manager: We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay. As can be seen from nearly every other review, our toilets are normally spotless and most people respect the facilities that we have provided for them and clean up after themselves, however this is not always the case, and we cannot emply a cleaner 24 hours a day.
Regarding people walking across your pitch, we can only apologise aboutn this, but this is outwith our control and is down to individual guests on site.
Regarding the midges, we are in the Scottish Highlands so do occassionally get them. We are not infested with them but they may appear when there is no breeze in the early evening (which is not very often in Wick), but we do stock a good selection of midge and insect repellents and midge nets in our shop.
