What customers say
This is a well-maintained and friendly campsite with excellent, clean facilities, including individual shower and toilet cubicles. Visitors praise the peaceful atmosphere, beautiful lakes, and family-friendly amenities like the playground and games room. The site is also highly regarded for its dog-friendly spaces and the helpfulness of the owners and staff. While most guests had a positive experience, a few noted some building noise and a lack of privacy on certain pitches.

Excellent stay in the super cute belle tent
Lotus bell tent (family)
Liked Loved everything about this site.
Exceeded expectations and we really enjoyed our stay.
Booked a last minute night away for a friends birthday. The belle tent was super cute and comfy. Was not expecting the extra little touches. Wine glasses cutlery a kettle, washing up bowl tea towel and other items we didn’t even use! The fairy lights were super cute and the beds were really comfy.
We had so much space outside, a picnic table and a girlie which we made use of.
The portaloo in our field was really clean and had an air fresher we were pleasantly surprised. The washing facilities were really good and the honesty shop whikst we didn’t use it was a nice addition.
This wasn’t a rowdy site and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay great value for money. We were very lucky with the weather so I’m sure this added to how we felt about the set up but even if the weather wasn’t great it would still have been a lovely stay
I have put a one on wifi as we didn’t even try to use it so can’t comment
Disliked Nothing everything was great

Electric optional grass tent pitch
Liked Good showers, lovely big pitches, good enclosed dog field
Disliked Strange idea to put communal hand towels in every toilet, these were often sopping wet as people had used them to dry the floor from the showers, paper towels may be a more hygienic option.

From the manager: Thank you for your review.
The towels are the only viable option. We have looked at paper towels but the cost over 8 units for 12 months would be around £8,000 a year, which is simply not possible as a cost to us. We do change them often throughout the day and unfortunately when you stayed with us, we had a group that continued to use them as mats. Most guests who stay are sensible and only use them as intended, as a hand towel for drying hands.
Great stay overall

Liked Arrived later than planned at 9.20pm, rung to ensure we were still coming and to guide us in, met by person to guide us to our pitch with explanation of where everything was. Plenty of space, toilet/shower rooms AMAZING!

Good to start with, but ruined at the end.
Electric optional grass tent pitch
Liked Good facilities generally. Really cool little honesty shop selling great honey they make on the farm.
Disliked As we were having our breakfast, the owner came up and told us that there would be an extra £20 charge for charging our EV overnight. It was plugged in via a 13-amp plug on a mobile mains unit, and only actually pulled around 7 amps to add ~30 miles of range overnight, so that we had some wriggle room to get home. This is a commonly done thing and there was nothing in any of the documents to say that this was not permitted. I stood in front of him and worked out that even at 69p per kWh, which is over twice the UK average and about what one might pay at motorway services, it would have cost £8.40. His response was "Let's call it a tenner then". In reality, he almost certainly made a profit on the £5 I had already spent. The conversation was loud and embarrassing for my partner, so I paid up.
All in all, I paid for an electric pitch, I paid £5 to connect the electricity, then I had to pay an unmentioned £10 charge for actually using it.
It is a shame because we were looking forward to going back, but I don't dare drive past it in future in case the guy helps himself to any more of my cash.

From the manager: Thank you for your review and especially for mentioning the charging of your EV car via the 16amp hook up box on each pitch which is what you use to plug domestic appliances in via a 13amp cable. ie kettle, phone charging, cooking etc.
Firstly, by your own calculations you used "£8.40" you think, this is still £3.40 over the £5 paid, so I can only assume that you would of expected us to pay that additional money for you to charge your car. Whilst talking to you in the morning, you where boiling a kettle, cooking bacon on an electric cooker and toasting bread. All in addition to charging your phones and on top of that plugging your car in to charge. Unsurprising we had to come out at 5.30am, as the electric had tripped due to the over loading, which was caused by you. Had you of asked about EV car charging we would of pointed out the ACTUAL charger to you. I fear your partner was more embarrassed by the clearly cheeky actions of trying to sneak in a car charge, knowing that this wasn't allowed.
We very clearly have an EV charger onsite for guests to use and pay for their car charging, also this has the correct amps for car charging, so that it doesn't over load the electrics. We ourselves own a 40kw zoe, fully electric car, so understand how much it costs to charge cars.
We are a micro site, owned by husband and wife, we are not part of a massive chain or group and get NO help with outgoings. As you can only image our expense has tripled over the past year and we operate on the minimum or margins.
We are on commercial electric rate, which is A LOT MORE than domestic.
