Bursting for a beach break but also want to explore buzzing Barcelona…? Blend both sandy and city times into your trip with a stay at Camping El Garrofer, three kilometres from the centre of Sitges, 50 minutes' drive south west of Catalonia’s capital and half an hour's walk away from Terramar beach.
Scattered with typical Mediterranean pine trees, the site is set up for a splendid stay in Spain with direct buses to the centre of Sitges and Barcelona, as well as to El Prat airport (25 minutes by car but factor in a little more time if you’re heading there by public transport…), leaving from close by. The limestone hills of Parc del Garraf are also only half an hour's drive away.
Splash in the Med, admire the architecture in Barcelona’s gorgeous Gothic Quarter or get your swimsuit on – this park has a cushion-lined chillout area for idling under the trees. There’s also a saltwater pool with waterslides open during high season only for chlorine-free dips. Head to the on-site restaurant for local grub to help you sustain particularly lengthy sunbathing sessions…
Up for activities that will get you moving? Entertainment’s organised on site (expect Zumba classes and live music performances), and the kids have a club, playground, workshops and bouncy castles to skip between.
Off-site explores are easy to sort too as the reception has a ticket office that will help you arrange visits to top attractions in Sitges and Barcelona. If you’ll be wanting to mosey about under your own steam bike rental’s available as well.
Also on site are a grocery shop and laundry facilities.

不喜欢: Nos tocó una parcela de esquina en un sitio de paso y la gente se pasaba por medio de la parcela y por la noche de sentaba un grupito de personas en el muro de la parcela que fue un poco molesto

The nightlife’s nifty in Sitges – in the summer, the town’s particularly lively thanks to Carnival celebrations, but the bars are typically busy all year round. Head into the centre for posh restaurants and fancy boutiques or saunter to one of the beaches (there are 17 all in all…) for salty swims.
A 25-minute walk away, the Platja de les Anquines cove with kayak and stand-up paddleboard rental is the closest stretch of sand, while the longer shores of Platja de l'Estanyol are a five-minute drive.
Escape the crowds on a wander beside a quieter bit of coast around the Punta de les Coves with its views out over striking cliffside scenery or stay in town and amble along the Passeig Maritim pedestrianised waterfront boulevard with an ice cream in hand from one of the parlours.
Heading into the hinterlands of Catalonia, the Parc del Garraf (25 minutes’ drive) is your spot for marked trails leading towards abandoned villages and a Buddhist Monastery; alternatively, thrill the kids and embrace a high-octane day out at the popular PortAventura theme park (45 minutes by car) instead…
