You'd be forgiven for feeling just a tad smug when showing pals back home holiday snaps taken at Lago Idro Glamping Boutique. With direct access to Lake Idro's shimmering shoreline and a backdrop of green mountains, the scenery at this site near Brescia is likely to spark wanderlust in pretty much all who set eyes on it… Lago Idro Glamping Boutique is a pretty practical place too, with a food shop and restaurant to sort on-site eats, baby changing facilities for families touring with tiddlers and, of course, free wifi access for uploading a few inspirational (read: envy-inducing) travel pics. The pool – also very essential – is well-equipped for swims with mountain views. The lake, 370 metres up in the pre-Alps, isn't too chilly for open-air dips either, and makes a particularly inviting option for escaping the poolside buzz in the hot summer months. A few minutes' walk away is Anfo village centre, where there's a beachside bar, a couple more restaurants, a post office and a jetty where you can join floating tours of Lake Idro in the high season. If you prefer, you can also be your own skipper and set out on self-steered trips from the village watersports centre.

不喜欢: La nostra piazzola non aveva ombra ma il clima ventilato ha limitato il disagio.

喜欢: Pitches were spacious in a stunning location, right alongside the lake.
The park was very clean, facilities were spotless and modern too.
Reception staff were polite, friendly, attentive and happy to help where they could.

不喜欢: We were initially placed next to a very squeaky gate that people used to get to the lake. (NB We asked to be moved and they did so straight away)

Motorhome pitch size good.. with water.. excellent!
Lake view and surrounding area very good.

不喜欢: Wasn’t keen to see the sauna and jacuzzi in the same area as the pool; should be separate from children and made as adults only.
Difficult area to navigate the motorhome to empty grey water; could be better positioned.
People arriving late to their pitch; a lot of moment "after hours".

Anfo is a very quiet town with not a lot happening but nice for a little stroll.

喜欢: The facilities were very good. Felt like a place a celebrity would visit. Restaurant, swimming pool, showers, toilets, grounds and especially the little supermarket were above our expectations. It is also next to a beautiful lake with a path for easy walks/runs and to cool down with a refreshing swim.

不喜欢: The showers and toilets were on the top corner of the grounds meaning people on sites on the other end had a bit of a walk to use it. Not a problem during the day but in heavy rain (which we had for 2 days) and at night. Ideal would have been bathrooms located in the middle of the site. Streetlights also lit up our tent at night that you could read a book, so never had darkness to sleep.

Want to get out on a jaunt for a couple of hours while sticking close to site? While away an afternoon by strolling through the local countryside to Rocca d'Anfo (about 20 minutes' walk), a fortified military complex built in the 15th century when Anfo was part of the Republic of Venice. Up for a trip to a larger body of water? Lake Garda (from 35 minutes' drive) is the big daddy of the northern Italian lakes; head here to peruse art exhibits in one of the several museums around Salò (35 minutes), take on the big rides and white-knuckle coasters at Gardaland theme park (an hour and 15 minutes) or drive up the Sirmione peninsula (an hour and 20 minutes) and admire its renowned Roman ruins. A spin around Brescia city centre (an hour) also has much to recommend itself to travellers, including a monumental castle, dozens of history-infused churches and several pic-worthy parks. Stacks of sleek designer shops can be found around the Corso Palestro, Corso Zanardelli and Piazza della Loggia, while an antiques market is held in the Piazza della Vittoria on the second weekend of each month.
