It'll be easy to keep your offspring amused from Camping du Vieux Château on the Loire-Atlantique coast… for not only is this friendly and well-equipped site a 10-minute walk from the beaches, shops and town centre of Saint-Michel-Chef-Chef, it's only five kilometres from the excellent antics, tree climbing and hanging bikes of Pornic Adventure. The beaches and chunk of coast around here lend themselves with no probs to family activity days, whether you want to cycle the coastal path, gallop along the sands by horseback or get into the water for windsurfing or sea kayaking. The Sentier des Daims animal park, Défi Nature and Planète Sauvage are all within 35 kilometres of the site's setting between Pornic and Saint-Brévin-Les-Pins; Nantes is 50 kilometres away. Camping du Vieux Château is a family-run site, with plenty of shaded areas and well-maintained paths giving easy access throughout. It has a grocery shop selling fresh local produce including cheese and fruit throughout the season, and also runs a snack bar in summer for quick bites as well as a fresh bread service. Barbecues are available for hire. Leisurely options include a heated pool and a paddling pool, a roomy playground, a pétanque court and table football in the spacious snack bar. Evening entertainment is arranged in high season.

喜欢 The day we left, over priced,WiFi was rubbish, camp looks like it's passed its sell buy date, staff were very helpful and spoke English.

喜欢 When we first arrived we were not sure as it looked to be tightly packed, booked in by a very polite and helpful young lady, a little confused as we though she was saying no Elsan point but turned out she meant no drive over empty for motor homes. Toilets were spotless every day they were cleaned the whole site was clean, our pitch was plenty big enough for us and level, not all the pitches were as level as ours.

不喜欢 Didn’t like being under trees especially as we had a lot of rain, a lot of static or lodges mixed with the caravans and motor homes.

Four kilometres of family-friendly beach and coves await at Saint-Michel-Chef-Chef a 10-minute walk from the site, including two lifeguarded beaches, kids' clubs and games. If you'd rather get out onto the water, book watersports sessions including sea kayaking, sailing and windsurfing from the Saint-Michel nautical clubs or nearby in Pornic. More family days are at Pornic Adventure five kilometres away, an amusement park with tree climbing, hanging bikes, a climbing wall and a shooting range; among the Legendia Parc of Frossay, 20 kilometres away; and at the nearby animal park of Sentier des Daims. Défi Nature, a leisure park with paintballing, tree climbing and an orienteering course, is also within a short drive, and the 1000+ animals of safari park Planète Sauvage can be seen by car or 4x4 bush truck, 35 kilometres from the site. An equestrian centre five kilometres away has lessons and excursions for all levels from beginner to experienced riders, including trails through the countryside or canters on the beach. You'll also be able to easily find local biking and hiking trails from here, around the coast and the Guérande peninsula, around Pornic, on the popular island of Noirmoutier, and on Europe's longest cycling trail La Vélodyssée, the 1400-kilometre route connecting Roscoff to Hendaye.
