Ceiriog Valley Park

喜欢: Site location is easy to find and the narrow entrance is best approached from Chirk direction.
Located in a beautiful , peaceful, tree lined valley, the major sound is the rush of the adjacent river.
Check in with the friendly and welcoming staff was straight forward.
Gravel pitches next to the river have a bit of a slope on them, so levellers at the ready!
Even over Easter the touring site wasn't overly busy, but with no facilities for kids, other than playing in the river, it seems more suited to couples interested in walking or other outdoor activities or as a base for visiting local places of interest.
Facilities covered the essentials and were generally clean and well maintained.
Free WiFi worked well.

喜欢: Really clean facilities, gorgeous views and everyone was very respectful and quiet, especially staying with a baby was worried about noise, but so quiet and lovely.

不喜欢: Shower in the disabled toilets was quiet poor flow

喜欢: Such a lovely setting by the river. The owners were very helpful in giving us some walks to do. I really couldn't fault anything. Great facilities. No charge for showers, which I thought was mentioned somewhere.
We used the outside sink to wash our dishes, but then discovered there's one inside too! We will definitely be back.

喜欢: Beautiful scenery, beautiful river walk, well kept area and toilet block was heated. Facilities were really great and the owner was lovely. We loved that all the rubbish was sorted into recycling and general waste etc and the owner emptied them regularly. All the other guests were really nice. We can’t wait to book again!

不喜欢: Nothing.
We forgot a few things like washing up liquid because we’re complete newbies to camping and an onsite camp shop/stock list would make a killing. The local village isn’t far to be fair but after the river walk our 3 year old was pooped. It’s literally is the only thing that would make the site that tiny bit better, it was absolutely stunning and it’s entirely our fault we forgot the stuff.

喜欢: Staff were friendly, approachable and live on site. They are available for long hours. They provided useful information and directions for a variety of local walks. There was a beautiful riverside walk directly from the camp site. Stunningly beautiful small campsite: peaceful and impeccably well kept. Free wifi across the site. Loo blocks were kept spotlessly clean and not closed at inconvenient times for cleaning. The showers were free and not on a push button. Water flow was good and they were warm. There was a bench to put your clothes on or sit and dry your feet. The shower curtain was effective at preventing dry clothes being splashed. There were laundry facilities on site. The site was level and the grass pitches seemed to be well drained. It was easy to get awning pegs in the ground. Overall, a lovely, friendly site and not overly expensive.

不喜欢: The B road which is the approach to the site from Chirk direction is quite narrow in places. The site is not well signposted from the opposite direction. There is quite a steep slope down to the site and I was worried if I could exit towing the caravan up it after my holiday. The owners offered help and support if necessary. It was actually fine, as there is a straight section to accelerate in before going up and also an area at the top large enough to level out before exiting onto the narrow B road.
