Electric hardstanding touring pitch (riverside)

Liked Lovely quiet site set in a picturesque valley. Friendly welcome from the owners very informal. Its mostly seasonal caravans and static homes but they accommodate well for the tourer with lively clean facilities and hot showers. Just a couple of hardstanding pitches right next to the river, beautiful setting even though it was drizzling. You probably need to drive if you want to eat out as pub in village doesn't always do food. Poor coverage for phone connection but we were given the WiFi code which helped.

Disliked Only a few hardstanding pitches and due to the weather, we struggled to get off the grass but nothing really to dislike if you like peace & quiet.

Electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Great campsite with lovely walking trail direct from the site. Clean facilities. Really liked the welcome sheet with some useful information on nearby towns/ places to visit.
There is a great pub nearby (about 6 min drive) called The Swan Inn. Excellent food and charming atmosphere.
We walked into Llangollen which was about 2 hours (steep over the mountain) but enjoyable for a challenging walk.

Disliked Not much to do in the town itself if you weren’t wanting to go too far.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked As a solo female camper in my roof tent I found this site beautiful, peaceful, safe, and clean. The hosts were welcoming and allowed me to stay an additional night as I’d enjoyed myself that much. The check out time was great and allowed me to pack away without feeling rushed.

With this being a smaller site the place didn’t feel overcrowded, loud or unclean. Due to the area having limited signal I really appreciated the free WiFi.

I would definitely recommend and will definitely be visiting again.

Thank you very much for making this a really wonderful experience for my first trip as a solo female camper in my roof tent.

Disliked Drinking tap water wasnt nice

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review and for pointing out that our tap water was not nice, we are sorry to hear this. Our water supply comes from Hafren Dyfrdwy, we have informed them and requested it to be tested. Our own tap water in our house on the caravan park is clear and tastes fine, and we have not had any complaints from any of our static caravan owners or other guests, but we are looking into it. We wish you had pointed this out to us while you were here so we could of tasted it.

Local attractions

If walking's your passion, this is the place for you, say the owners of Ceiriog Valley Park… The North Berwyn Way is for experienced or energetic hikers, covering 15 miles of waymarked route split into five sections; start at Llangollen if you want to tackle the full route. The Dee Valley Way is also waymarked over 15 miles and runs from Llangollen to Corwen. More energetic walks – and climbs – are around the Berwyn Mountains such as the hike around the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, but if you want to take things a tad more easily, take the steam train of the Llangollen Railway for the 10 miles between Llangollen and Corwen, or take a ride via a horse-drawn boat on Llangollen Canal, part of a World Heritage Site. Pony trekking and quad biking are also available in the area.
