A warm west Wales welcome awaits at Wern Mill Caravan Park, a family-friendly site in the peaceful hamlet of Gilfachreda five minutes’ drive from New Quay. The site is well placed for adventurers and explorers: the long-distance Wales and Ceredigion coast paths can be joined within about 15 minutes’ stroll of base, and a bus stop five minutes’ walk along the road serves the scenic coastal towns and villages of this part of Wales, taking you all the way to Aberystwyth or Haverfordwest should you wish. Not that going that far will be an immediate priority… Start with a jaunt into New Quay for days spent sampling the wares (and seeing the busy buzzy workers) at New Quay Honey Farm, hours at sea with eyes peeled for dolphins, and fish and chips by the pretty harbour. Or get bucket and spades at the ready and take the 10-minute amble down to Cei Bach beach for days on the sands. When setting foot any further than absolutely necessary just won’t do, settle in on site instead for a stroll by the stream, a bit of family time at the playground, or idle times using the free wifi across the park too. A small shop is on site for essentials, and there is an outdoor eating area too.

喜欢: Lovely site with good access and clear communication from the site owners. Well kept with reasonably level pitches. But the location was the winner here. Lovely walk from Llanina point to Newquay when tides allow and on a bus route if you didn’t feel like walking back.Also good walks in Llanina woods which you can also walk to from the site Small pop up bar on site which we didn’t try but it looked lovely. Poor TV signal but good WiFi. Would stay again.

不喜欢: Not disliked but is near a road so there was some road noise but didn’t bother us and was quieter by night.

喜欢: The welcome from start to finish at this site was next to none. Owen couldn't do enough for us and even moved us onto a flat pitch so as we didn't have to worry over sorting the chocs out. The cleanliness of the site was perfect. It is a lovely idea having the Bar on site - very welcomed and Jo was also very welcoming and it was nice to have a drink and get talking to your fellow campers.

不喜欢: Just a little bit isolated but lovely walk to Cei Bach Beach.

喜欢: Lots of likes for this site as they seem to have thought of everything. Received an email with pitch number and site map before we arrived. The site is very well maintained and the staff were friendly. There are rules laid out as to how you should park but that means the pitches are used to the best advantage. Lots of nice touches such as a hairdryer and straighteners in the ladies shower room, spray and blue roll to wipe the washing up area down, dog washing sink, with dog shampoo and dryer, wet suit wash area, bar with closed in area etc. There was a small play area, reception with a shop, information about tides, buses etc and a fish and chip van visited on Saturday evening. You can walk to 2 different beaches, the closest is about 15 minutes walk. You can also walk along the beach to the nearest town at low tide. There is an alternative route at high tide or you can organise a lift in for £1 each person. The surrounding area is beautiful too.

不喜欢: Very little. My husband mentioned that the pitch we were on was tricky to turn into as the van opposite was quite close. But that is being picky!

喜欢: Very Friendly welcome & throughout the whole stay. Excellent toilet & shower facilities. Very clean. Well stocked little shop & onsite bar. Lovely little touches like hair dryer & straighteners in the toilets. Water was lovely & hot. Dog & wetsuit washing area.
A really lovely walk to the beach into New Quay. We will definitely be back

Bar open weekend evenings with fair priced drinks. Dog wash really useful for sandy dogs 👍

喜欢: Great location, great Welcome by the owner , site is 15mins easy walking to the sea .The site is small but well laid out , the facilities are excellent and kept very clean all day , there was even a dog wash and dry area , the Wi-Fi was good. The Bar opened this week and had a great selection of beers and drinks at good prices . The Owner was attentive and helpful. We had a great week thank you.

Did someone say beach? It’s likely they did, as there are two gorgeous little numbers a short stroll away – take your pick from Cei Bach (10 minutes’ walk) or Traeth Gwyn (15 minutes). Linking the two (and the whole of the rest of the Welsh coastline) is the Wales Coast Path, where you can walk for miles and miles (and miles and miles) with the sea in sight. If the waves are beckoning you closer, cart your surfboard off to the beaches at Aberarth or south of New Quay or head to the watersports centre in New Quay for kit hire and lessons in paddleboarding, kayaking, windsurfing and the like. Head to the harbour here or in Cardigan (half an hour’s drive) for boat trips and, hopefully, glimpses of dolphins. There are plenty of options back on dry land, too: take a walk around the 18th-century mansion at Llanerchaeron (20 minutes), putter along the Teifi Valley Railway (25 minutes) or see the cosy exhibits at the National Wool Museum (25 minutes). If your Wales stay isn’t complete without a castle or two, trips to the towers of Cilgerran or Cardigan (both half an hour) must be on the cards…
