Castle Cary Holiday Park

喜欢 Plenty of space for pitching a tent (of all sizes). I liked the fact you can park your vehicle next to your pitch. Food was excellent in Lairds Inn (make sure you book in advance). Although there is no ale on tap they do have it in bottles which is supplied from a local brewery, I thought it was very nice.
Loved seeing all the rabbits on site along with the two lovely swans that currently have seven (nearly fully grown) cygnets.

不喜欢 The main road can be very noisy especially if you are pitching a tent. There's a small cluster of trees in the centre of the field which may block out some of the noise.

喜欢 Yes stay was good had a lovely meal in the Lairds in plus a few drinks spoke to some lovely people

不喜欢 Cleanliness of shower/toilet block needs looked although there nice blocks certain people don’t clean after themselves this was our only complaint which lets it down toilets were full of grass and toilet paper on floors

喜欢 We loved the location. The park grounds are beautiful and well maintained .
The Laird Inn is good value and the staff were excellent.
This is a great park for young families, but also for dog owners as there is a large dog walk on site .
The Park was very busy during our visit so was quite noisy, however, by 11pm it was very peaceful and we had a good nights sleep .
We didn't use the wi-fi so can't rate it.
Overall good value for money .

不喜欢 I don't think the toilets and showers were cleaned once over the weekend so by Sunday morning they were filthy and no loo roll . I've seen cleaner portaloos at a music festival !
This wouldn't put us off visiting again, but it did let down an otherwise excellent Park .

喜欢 The location was perfect & having Lairds Inn onsite was a great addition for eating out.

不喜欢 The pool facilities could be going with a freshen up & shower block could be doing with a regular clean for personal hygiene.

喜欢 A fantastic park. Plenty of space to pitch up in Bayview meaning we weren’t really that close to any other tents. Lots of space for the kids to explore. We will definitely be back. Very friendly staff at reception and also the maintenance team.

不喜欢 A water point at Bayview would be a great addition, walking to the toilet blocks is quite a walk for water.

不喜欢 System for the restaurant booking online is no use if you do not know this and end up with your family looking food at 18.00 with nothing left, very disappointing

喜欢 The Laird Inn on site, excellent service, entertainment and excellent food.
The swimming pool (only tried the outside one)
Friendly, approachable, informative staff.
Good bike ride on a bike lane from the park
Nice woodland walk
Lots of wild rabbits
Good pitches

喜欢 We’ve been here twice now. Outdoor and in pool are great. Campsite very quiet. The only downside is the amount of dog fouling on the campsite. This wasn’t like this last year. I spoke to reception they said it could be swans. It’s definite not swans. I doubt it is campers not cleaning up after their dogs. Could be the owners or people in motor homes.

喜欢 It a lovely site, well set up generously sized pitches .
We didn’t use any of the family facilities as we didn’t have children with us, but they appeared to well maintained and were being enjoyed by the children there.
The Lairds Inn was excellent, the food was beautifully cooked and the service was impeccable. I would highly recommend it, but definitely book in advance.
Great dog walking facilities all in all an excellent site for families & adults alike.

不喜欢 The en-suite toilet facilities although a good idea, there needs to be a way for them to be cleaned after use as they are left in a very messy state.
But more importantly the doors need to have proper locks, as these are unisex facilities the locks were either rather flimsy or just didn’t work at all. This could at best cause a rather embarrassing incident or at worst leave young girls ,boys and woman vulnerable to attack.
