Tarka Trail Camping

喜欢: Very simple layout, easy access to the tarka trail for cycling and walking.
Toilet block is very nice and very clean.

不喜欢: Some noise from the industrial unit next door (on a week day)

喜欢: Everything! Lovely, well-maintained site with modern super clean toilet/shower block and direct access to the Tarka Trail. Very friendly staff as well! We’re planning a longer stay, so we can hire bikes next time.

喜欢: I recently stayed at the Tarka Trail Camping site and had an excellent experience. The campsite was well-maintained with pristine facilities, welcoming staff, and spacious, level pitches. We brought our bikes to enjoy the Tarka Trail, which is perfect for walking and cycling. Despite being a bit pricey, I highly recommend this clean, well-serviced campsite for a peaceful getaway.

不喜欢: We visited the Yelland Manor Micro Brewery next door for a drink and some food. However, we were concerned as the owner appeared to be somewhat indisposed. Additionally, despite its charming farm location, we noticed some rats running around, which led us to decide against staying for a meal.

喜欢: clean facilities

不喜欢: Pitches are very small and close to each other - designed for motorhomes not cars and tents.
Management team are rarely on site
I got up in the night to use the loos and it was like walking into a tropical jungle of humidity as someone hadn't been able to turn off a shower. I turned it to cold and pressed the button again and it stopped but when I waited before leaving to tell the management team they said 'oh usually someone calls us when that happens' I suggested they might need to fix it as its a waste of water and energy and therefore not very environmentally friendly to just stop it when it happens and not solve the issue.

喜欢: The welcome was friendly & the pitch was a good size & pretty flat. The views were gorgeous even when we were watching the rain approaching to eventually batter us along with the wind for a short spell. The following days were lovely and we used the Tarka trail running along the edge of the site to cycle with bikes brought to the site by Olli from Instow cycles (details supplied on site). Easy bus trips to Barnstaple or Bideford with stops at the entrance to the site.
The washroom/toilets & wash up facilities looked new and were kept immaculately, and the grey waste & chemical waste likewise.
Highly recommended.

不喜欢: The only possible thing negative was the showers were a little cool when out of the lovely warm water. Time of year I guess and not a big issue. Would I come back? yes. Would I recommend? Yes.

喜欢: Lovely, clean site. Toilets and showers seemed like brand new. The site was right on the tarka trail which also led to the coastal path, so definitely a good site for walkers or cyclists.
There is also an on-site micro- brewery - an interesting experience of nothing else!

不喜欢: More sun and less rain would be great for next time, please 😆

喜欢: What a fantastic little campsite, I real find. Shower block is amazing, while site spotlessly clean and direct access straight into tarka trail! What more could you ask for.

喜欢: Lovely site with stunning views, well looked after and access to the Trail through a gate at the boundary of the site. We were given a pitch on the boundary with an uninterrupted view of the Tawe Estuary which was very much appreciated. Must bring some bikes next time. Owners were very friendly and helpful and the Toilet/Shower block is probably the best I have seen, warm, modern and spotlessly clean.
