Looking to tuck into some time away in the gorgeous Lancashire countryside? Blossom Tree Camping has quite the spot for a rural stay, 35 minutes’ drive away from the Lake District and 45 minutes from Blackpool. This family-run farm is a quiet and spacious patch with some cows and many a place to kick back and relax. Well-behaved dogs are welcome here too, but they must be tethered at all times because the cows aren’t big fans. There’s a picnic area on site when you feel like planting yourself down for some tasty eats. In terms of other facilities, there’s a toilet block with ladies and gents’ toilets and a separate shower block and dishwashing area. Where to source the goods for your picnic, though? Well, no need to worry, as there are lots of food shops, including a farm shop, within five minutes’ drive of the site. Pubs are a common sight too – there are several within five minutes’ drive of the site and many more eateries (restaurants, bars and the like included) in Lancaster, 10 minutes’ drive away. The site also sells pizza cooked in a wood-fired stove. For anything else you may need and finding local attractions, there are friendly faces on site that will be happy to point you in the right direction, whether it’s scenic trails, beaches or crags. Please note that electric cooking equipment and devices such as kettles, hairdryers and straighteners may not work at this site.

喜欢 I was made to feel very welcome; the staff could not have been more helpful on my arrival.

The toilets and showers were well-maintained and the campsite, though smaller than others I’ve stayed on, did not feel crowded, with pitches large enough to accommodate some quite sizeable tents.

The site is located outside the city; ten minutes by car or about an hour’s walk if you don’t want to pay for parking.

喜欢 This was our first stay at blossom tree & we will definitely be returning. We loved everything about the site. Lovely pitches, an onsite shop, amazing wood fire pizzas and nuggets, but more importantly lovely staff.

喜欢 Family run, really friendly, wood fired pizzas on site were amazing! Really helpful, big pitches for tents. Stayed in the shepherd hut, really clean, spacious, quiet and peaceful as its set a-bit back from the pitches. Decent size fire pit, clean showers and toilets. Would highly recommend this place!

喜欢 The owners are so friendly and helpful, it has great, clean facilities, even a pizza oven at night which is great when you don't fancy cooking after putting the tent up! It was a great family friendly site, with excellent vibes, we will definitely be returning again!

喜欢 The site was perfect and in a great location. Staff were very friendly and we 100% will be going back. Felt really safe with just us women and the kids. The kids had an absolute blast, one camper bought a slip and slide which i definitely think the site should take up.

喜欢 On arriving the camp site was beautiful! Anthony came up to the pitch we were at with friends and assisted us checking in. The pitch we were on was an amazing location for the kids. There was enough space for us to have a big area between tents for the kids to play. Being where we were we could always hear and see the kids. The staff couldn’t help enough. On the Saturday we were surprised by a slip and slide which the kids went wild for! The little areas where the kids can play are beautiful. With a swing which is shaded and an aeroplane seasaw. The site is one you don’t have to leave if you don’t want to as it’s such a chilled vibe. Anthony and all the staff couldn’t help enough. Out of all the sites we’ve stayed at this was the best we’ve stayed at with such a big group! Highly recommend, we will be back 💓

Once you’re all settled in, it’ll be time to plot out your plan of action. Those of you who have hiking at the top of your list will, of course, want to circle the Lake District National Park (35 minutes’ drive) on your map. The Trough of Bowland (25 minutes) has plenty more scenic walking and cycling routes – this time through a remote river valley. Underline Ingleton Waterfalls Trail (35 minutes) while you’re at it – the views are very worth the small trek. Like a little of the city life too? Lancaster (10 minutes) is a good place to get in some sightseeing. The castle and the Ashton Memorial in Williamson’s Park might make it onto your tour, as should a stop in a delicious eatery (or two). Blackpool (45 minutes) is a smaller town, but there’s plenty of entertainment packed in, including a theme park, wake park, beaches and amusement piers. While you’re on the topic of bays, the Morecambe Bay (25 minutes) estuary is a haven for all things outdoor sports: sailing, kitesurfing and even parachuting. If you like to scale cliffs, head to Thorn Crag (half an hour) too.
