Trawling the net for a top fishing site where you can spend your next holiday? Sort yourself a break at Clay Farm, a rural spot in Clows Top, Worcestershire with pretty waterside views and a handful of well-maintained pitches next to its ponds. This spacious place has a relaxed feel, so it’s a pleasant option for settling in – and chilling out – in the countryside, even when you’re not angling. But if you are? There’s a large 12-foot deep pool filled with common, mirror, crucian and grass carp weighing up to 25lbs, with lots of tree cover for when shelter is needed. Clay Farm's small carp pool is excellent for younger fishing fans looking to dip their toe in the sport, and there’s another pond containing tench, roach, bream and chub.​ (Fishing comes at an extra charge, payable on site.) In terms of amenities, Clay Farm is towards the simpler end of the scale, with well-maintained toilets but no on-site shower facilities. And as for off-site attractions? Head to the Wyre Forest National Nature Reserve (five minutes’ drive) to stretch your legs, or peer at the exotic creatures at West Midland Safari Park (20 minutes).

Great toilets and washing facilities.

不喜欢 Shame there was noise from the rented house. A Hen party so had music most of Saturday afternoon and evening while fishing.
music was less loud on campsite due to building blocking the noise on campsite.

Obviously weather wasn’t great but the hard standing was perfect

3 pools that would like to fish in the warmer weather

Called on arrival and was told in detail about facilities location, bin areas and water points

喜欢 This is the 2nd time in 2 weeks we've been back here. An hour from Birmingham where it's quiet, has great views of the night sky and is yet only 10 minutes from the beautiful Wyre Forrest.
One of the best things here is that you just give them a call (both owners numbers are in front of the hard standing pitches to your right as you drive in) to let them know you are there, they give you the information you need and then they just leave you to get on with it.
I'm not someone who's into fishing but views of the lake were fantastic.
Great place to stay.

Further family-friendly days out are easily accessible, whether you opt for a drive-through safari at West Midland Safari Park (20 minutes), an educational visit to Ironbridge Gorge (45 minutes) and Blists Hill Victorian Town (45 minutes) or fancy rewarding your kids' good behaviour with a trip to meet Thomas the Tank Engine at Drayton Manor Theme Park (an hour and 10 minutes). More peaceful days out beckon at Witley Court and Gardens (15 minutes), a lavish Italianate mansion surrounded by well-tended parkland. For less manicured green space, head instead to the untamed natural landscapes of the Shropshire Hills (35 minutes), an area of outstanding natural beauty with near-endless potential for country rambles and scrambles.
