喜欢 Area very good size and site clean. The staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble. Looking at booking again in May

不喜欢 The menu in the bar was limited but the food was good and served in a reasonable length of time. We were up on one of the top fields, which was very peaceful but too far away from the amenities

喜欢 The touring pitches were easily accessible on a large flat field. The staff were very friendly and the activities were great.

不喜欢 Showers were dirty and the pitches had no privacy. It is not made clear in the information that the WiFi is only available in the bar, not on the pitches.

喜欢 Pitches were spacious and we had a good location close to the toilets
Loads of room for the kids to play and explore

不喜欢 Could have varied the activities slightly for day and afternoon seems a bit repetitive

Showers could do with a. Squidgy in the cubical as when walking with sliders etc not the best to have to use hands to clean it

Lots of space, a great café/bar, and really clean toilet and shower blocks. There are loads of activities on site, and the woodland setting is beautiful with plenty of lovely walks. We absolutely loved it.

喜欢 I came with my 20 year old daughter for a short autumn camping trip, and we both loved the space, the choice of where to pitch and the beauty of the (large) site. If you like nature and a no frills freedom, this is the place to come. I've read a lot of complaints about the toilets -- but we found them clean, well-maintained and convenient.

喜欢 The staff, the lady from Sheffield was lovely and really great with my daughter and her friend. Our pitch, we love being on the cub field. Showers were ok could do with runny about longer than the did and could be warmer but nice and powerful. Activities were good, however I don't think it's wise to have the water sports on in Oct, maybe something else.

不喜欢 Didnt like the fact the bar wasn't open in the week. I think they could have done a Halloween disco and a Halloween treasure hunt. Both things I ended up doing for my girls.

With its tales of Robin Hood, ancient oaks, country houses and lush leafy landscape, Sherwood Forest has something to keep most sorts content. Clumber Park (15 minutes' drive) has long avenues of limes and open heath to stroll through, while over by the Major Oak (10 minutes) you can get acquainted with one of the area's stand-out trees before setting out on several waymarked hiking routes (maps available at the visitor centre next door). Similarly close to base is Go Ape Sherwood (10 minutes), where a medley of segways and zipwires nicely complement any on-site activities you've got up to during your stay. Kids not quite old enough for that kind of activity? Fear not, as families with younger members will find plenty of age-appropriate entertainment at Wheelgate Waterpark (15 minutes) or Sundown Adventureland (20 minutes). Spending time in town is also doable here, as Walesby Forest is just over half an hour from Lincoln's castle, cathedral and urban arboretum. Meanwhile, over in Newark (30 minutes), there's Civil War heritage, antiques shops and weekly markets in a handsome Georgian square, plus hovercraft tours if you fancy something a little different.
