Banish any visions of a stressy holiday stuck in hot cars and slow traffic out of your head… At North Shore Holiday Centre, a family-friendly Lincolnshire site 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of Skegness, you won’t have to travel far to stay busy once you arrive. North Shore is on the outskirts of Skegness, and there’s plenty of seaside resorty things to do within easy reach of the site: the sandy beach, pier and town centre are all within walking distance, and you’ll have to drive for less than 15 minutes to get to the museum, nature reserve, aquarium or theme park. There’s tons to keep you busy on site too: play a round of miniature golf, perfect your end-game at the nine-hole pitch and putt, have a go at bowls or boules, try out the arcade games and go game-set-match on the tennis courts. Feeling peckish? There are oodles of eateries within 25 minutes’ walk of North Shore, or you can settle in for a meal on site – call in to the fully-licensed bar-restaurant, then stick around for the evening’s entertainment.

喜欢: Friendly reception staff. Well stocked shop with welcoming staff. Walking distance to Skegness or the open top bus stops outside the park. Level pitches. Quiet park.

不喜欢: Miserable bar staff. Toilet block very dirty - requires DEEP clean. Litter under hedges. Not enough bin areas or dog waste bins. Children’s play areas require investment. Expensive to drink/eat in the club. Children’s entertainment needs modernising.

喜欢: Well stocked shop, good size gravel pitch, good location, about 15-20min walk to Skegness sea front, lovely hot shower water, good washing up area.

不喜欢: Upon arrival £20 deposit needs to be paid for electric card to access toilets, wash room etc.
We was not given a site map to show where rubbish disposal or water hook up was.
Female toilet & shower block disgusting!
- Near enough all toilets in had faeces smudged all over the back of toilet seat, finding a clean toilet was a miracle. Making it difficult for our young child to use the toilet.
- Showers need a deep clean with bleach, theres water marks, dirty walls all in shower cubicles.
- There are no shelfs or benches in showers to put dry clothes on.
- And the most AWFUL part, there was blood on the door when entering shower block, IT WAS THERE FOR 3 DAYS!!
Which is rather shocking considering it gets cleaned twice a day???
The spot where it was, was not hard to miss as you practically have to touch that part to open the door.
Blood being on the door is rather concerning seeing there are children going in and out all day.

喜欢: The standard of the touring pitches is very high. Good amount of space and very well maintained.

不喜欢: One of the children's play areas was out of use with a sign saying that they are working to improve it. A little disappointed the work wasn't completed out of season as my kids found there was little to do on the site.

Any stay at North Shore Holiday Centre should start with a thorough exploration of Skegness as there are loads of places within five minutes’ drive you’re going to want to add to the list. Kids will want to dive into the aquarium, the fairground and the brightly lit amusements of the pleasure pier, while grownups might have more appreciation for the Naturelands seal sanctuary or The Village, Church Farm open-air museum. Want something for everyone? The entire family should be entertained with trips to Fantasy Island theme park (in nearby Ingoldmells), the Lincolnshire Coast Light Railway and the stock car and bangers racing at Skegness Raceway, all within 10 minutes of the site. When you want to take your adventuring beyond the bounds of the seaside town, you can find peace 15 minutes away from the thrill rides and squealing tyres with visits to Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve or the flat Lincolnshire Wolds for cycling and walking trails, or by making a pitstop at the spectacular Gunby Hall and Gardens for a taste of splendour. For a quirkier outing, make your way a little further afield for a night at the Kinema in the Woods, believed to be the only full-time cinema in the UK still using rear projection for screenings. Screen one is home to an organ covered in 18th-century-style lacquered consoles and screen two has trompe l’oeil-style paintings of rural Lincolnshire on its walls.
