Parking up for the Peak District? Take your tourer off to Ashbourne Touring and Camping Park, a well-equipped park in a handy spot just off the A517 a mile from the village of Hulland Ward. Easy access from the main road means it’s nice and straightforward to get set up at this Derbyshire site – and that location also means you’ll be handily close to the village’s pub and farm shop (a useful source of supplies for your barbecue back at base). Bus services from the stop just outside can take you into nearby Ashbourne – or you can drive over there in about 10 minutes. In fact, everything here has been designed to make life nice and easy for guests, with well-kept ample toilet and shower facilities, a chemical disposal area, a washing-up area and a launderette provided. Dogs are welcome to join you on site as long as they're well behaved. The wifi service provided is also likely to come in handy, given that you'll probably want to plan lots of days out around the area. The edge of the Peak District National Park is about 10 minutes' drive away, as is the start of the traffic-free Tissington Trail, so you'll be in a good position for getting out to explore the lovely landscapes. And there are plenty of other attractions around too, including Alton Towers and the Chatsworth estate.

The only tent campers for the whole of sunday and into monday.

Early morning sunrise, puffy clouds and tents in the field

Carsington water, great to cycle to with coffee and cake at the visitor centre..

Decent, wide entrance for larger motorhomes etc

Beautiful skies full of birds, surrounded by treess and wildlife

Easy route to the pub as the main road outside the site is not suitable for walking along.

Good place to enjoy peace and quiet in the sunshine

喜欢: Lovely site, friendly arrival, nice flat pitch (not all are flat), very clean washrooms, beautiful views, nice play park, lovely and quiet, close to Ashbourne for the shops, great for Alton Towers at only 25 mins through the lanes.

不喜欢: The Taps accross the board are a pain in the backside, I read the other reviews on here when making my booking and totally underestimated how frustrating they are. The dish washing station and bathrooms sinks stay on for 1-3 seconds max and the showers for 5 seconds max, real pain when trying to wash children (especially girls).

Ground very rocky, wrote off a good 20 odd pegs on this trip.

More bins required, closer to the pitch, only bins by the entrance or the dishwashing room.

Advised the gates would be locked at a certain time and locked all night for safety. Gates left open throughout the duration of our stay.

喜欢: Well laid out site with families pitched nearer the play area and older parties nearer the entrance. Well equipped, with all you need. Bus stop to Ashbourne, Derby and Belper close by. Nice pub in Hulland Ward a 30 minute walk away.

喜欢: The well kept pitches. The convenience of the site for walking and cycling was fantastic. Very friendly staff who were happy to advise with our queries.
