Ashbourne Heights Holiday Park

喜欢 Great location, minute walk to the Tissington Trail. Pods were great for families, staff are friendly, swimming pool on site (would recommend booking all your slots on the day of arrival). The private ensuite was perfect and own washing up facilities located just at the back of your pod.

不喜欢 The beds are really uncomfortable, instead of a protective sheet the mattresses have plastic protective stitched in the bed which is awful, the beds were made on arrival with a flat bed sheet but the moment you turned over in the bed the flat sheet comes off the bed really uncomfortable and terrible night sleep. The ensuite private toilet each time we went there was loads of water which could have only been coming from the toilet, when we checked out we mentioned it and was told ‘that was only resealed this week’ we was never told when checking in, had we have known there was a possible issue we could have made them aware it was still a problem.

喜欢 Park was fantastic for the kids, really big and the kids loved it. Swimming pool was a nice assett would be nice to be open a little later.

不喜欢 Found the shop expensive , but main issue was the pitch themselves , we found these super boggy and muddy, appreciate the weather can’t be controlled but would revisit on this basis.
Disappointed in the toilets and showers.

喜欢 The space was lovely, great little park for the kids, friendly lady on check in, short drive to lots of things to do.
The pool is small, temperate and well managed with the bookings meaning it is not over crowded. Pool changing rooms were clean.
Little shop on site with essentials and sweeties for the kids, bit expensive but as expected for convenience, I have definatly seen steeper prices!
Little butty van on site, we personally didnt use but nice to have incase you wanted some breakfast or something else that you didnt have to cook!
Cafe on site, again, we didnt use, but nice to have the option!

不喜欢 The site was a bit uneven, had to pitch to one side of the space to avoid a hole and the tent was on a slope which made things a bit tricky. The toilets, showers and sinks etc were not serviced regularly enough, I think once daily, which wasnt enough with so many people using the same facilities. There are 5 toilets and 4 showers in the shower block, there were blockages in a couple of the toilets for most of the stay, the toilets themselves were dirty not long after being cleaned. The toilet rolls weren't replenished daily, we did let staff know and they put some rolls on top of the empty dispensers. The hand soap ran out and wasnt filled back up.
I know people should clean up after themselves but they dont as much as they should and the pot was area was disgusting each time I used it. I think if they were serviced 2 or 3 times daily this would be so much better and a much more pleasant experience for campers!

喜欢 Really friendly staff helped me out massively when I got stuck in the mud. Great location for walks, pubs 15 mins walk away, great park where my kids played for hours with the children they met. Great pool which we had to ourselves, food van, great shop filled with all sorts. Clean nice facilities. Definitely be back.

不喜欢 Small thing the toilets maybe could do with being checking abit more as they were quite messy at times but only due to such bad weather so not really any fault of there's. Also would be great if the shop could open slightly later.

喜欢 Spacious pitches with lots of room, lovely site with onsite pool. (Make sure to book spots!) lovely views and a great location for venturing further into the Peak District! Lots of amazing things to do and see around Ashbourne and the site
Great dog walking area with dog wash facilities
Shower/toilet block clean, well stocked and warm throughout our stay

不喜欢 Reception is in an awkward place for towing vans - you go past the pitches with no obvious/easy turnaround section - when I asked the guy who checked us in where we could turn around his response was ‘well that’s on you. I don’t know’ despite there being a ‘ring road’ just past the reception that an owner told us to use. Came across as abrasive and rude

Pitches (although roomy) were awkward in the fact they were not flat our pitch had a mound where our caravan had to be which meant we were on a slight downhill slope in the awning. Some other pitches needed extra blocks etc to level out Van - we did not have this issue on our pitch

喜欢 Clean toilet and shower area. Good facilities. Helpful staff. Lovely pubs/food within 1 mile ish (walk).
Use of swimming brilliant and good.

不喜欢 Slightly uneven grass pitches, also it had been raining so a bit muddy…not a problem just good to know.

喜欢 Facilities are lovely, new and plenty of them. Staff onsite were so friendly and helpful and went the extra mile for us, even gave us a jump start in our van, with a smile. Great little shop and the pool was easily accessible with a shower too. Easy accessibility to tissington trail straight from the site so safe for kids. Lots of varying accommodations mean that older members of the family can stay in a beautiful caravan and not miss out

不喜欢 Wi-Fi was expensive but free in certain areas of the site, but on reflection we had better quality time with our teenager 😊 he was more ‘present!’
