Ellis' Hill Farm Campsite

喜欢: The location is fantastic, peaceful, and scenic. It felt like a very safe place to stay with kids, which made the experience even more enjoyable as a family.

The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly, and the people there are incredibly welcoming.

One highlight was the owner’s dog, who joined us in the evening and was very well behaved, especially around the children. It added a nice, homely touch to our stay.

The on-site café is a real gem. It’s attached to a butchers and serves excellent quality meat and freshly prepared food. While the menu is limited, everything we tried was delicious.

Overall, Ellis Hill offers a wonderful blend of safety, adventure, and great hospitality—perfect for a family getaway.

不喜欢: There wasn’t much to dislike, but a few things are worth mentioning. The W/C facilities are very basic, although clean and functional, and as stated in the listing, so we knew what to expect.

Still, families with small children or those used to more developed amenities might find them a bit too simple.

喜欢: We had a great stay, only people on the campsite. Our 2 year old loved the rope swings. The owner was very nice and friendly. We would definitely stay again.

They do only have toilet facilities. But this was fine for us for 1 night.

The facilities are, indeed, basic!

A lot of our guests take their children for a shower and a swim at one of our local pools. That seems to be a good solution if you’re staying for a few nights.

喜欢: Good back to basics campsite and not overpriced, left alone to pitch and have a fire. Would stay again, nice to see the deer and hear the bird ls in the morning.

喜欢: I really enjoyed my stay at Ellis' Hill farm campsite. Even though I was there for one night splitting a journey, I was able to soak up the wildlife and surrounding woodland. I had free rein of where I wanted to pitch which was wonderful, I pitched up in a secluded part of the campsite and watched a flock of deer grazing just across from me over the evening. I could have a fire and was to able purchase some fine firewood as I was greeted by friendly host Kevin. It was a very peaceful area and just what I needed for a good sleep. Unfortunately I encountered a flat battery when I was leaving, but thankfully after popping into the shop and explaining my situation, Kevin and Graham were very helpful and assisted me in jump starting. Thank you very much for a pleasant stay, I will certainly stop off again if I need a lovely chilled stay.

喜欢: We had a friendly welcome and the place was very quiet which was great. There was a nice 20 min path walk to the nearest town with a lovely pub serving food, nice looking pizzeria and a Londis if we would have needed to stock up on anything. The campsite is very basic but this was what we were looking for.
