The Crown Inn and Campsite

Gostou: This really is a great little spot. The staff are super friendly and the pub very accommodating. We stayed overnight in our camper and enjoyed an evening meal in the pub. The river runs right next to the pitches and our little boy loved interacting with the alpacas. We would defiantly stay here again.

Gostou: What a little hidden Gem this place is! A nice family run pub/camp site. Rich and Caroline were very friendly, informative and very very helpful! Already booked our 2nd stay for next month we went as a couple but our next trip is with our little 1s! Everything is fairly priced from staying there to eating in the pub, do recommend booking a table once u there! Pizza night on Saturday is popular and they are so fresh, light and full of flavour (add your topping from their list, plenty of choice). Recommend the alpaca 🦙 tour if your not staying in the bell tents within their enclosure! Again these are any too. Hope this has helped you book with them, any questions pls ask and I'll do my best to answer them or you can get in contact with the proprietors themselves! (Be aware once your away from the pub there is no phone signal, which is good for a break away from social media or the internet world, also there are no showers, but there is washing facilities (sink with hot/cold water). Also their toilets are composting which is a brilliant idea and I must say they do NOT stink which is strange but good!! ) Have a enjoyable stay if you book. Não gostou: With river being so close, there was lots of bugs and flies. Also, grass next to river could be trimmed to access or at least to be able to see it when camping

Gostou: Absolutely loved the way the owners engaged with us, the way Molly interacted with the children and helping them feed and walk the Alpacas. The food was great. Really lovely place.

Gostou: Absolutely loved staying in the Willow tent with the Alpacas. Rich was friendly, knowledgeable and introduced us to 'the boys' who were all very cute and inquisitive, we roamed around their habitat and know that they are very well looked after and happy. Lovely location by the river, which was nice to wake up to the sound of the river and birdsong, shame we arrived late in the evening and had to leave early the next day, could definitely spend a lot of time there to relax and just enjoy the surroundings.

Não gostou: Lacking in shower facilities which was no bother to us as we only stayed 1 night but longer stays might struggle, I knew this before booking and it didn't put me off at all.

Gostou: What is not to like? Lovely, friendly welcoming and an awesome fford to drive across to get to the tent sites! The river location was lovely and the wooded area kept the children entertained for hours. Added bonus of the pub with some of the best pizza I’ve ever eaten! It is also located about 5min walk away to a football pitch and mini adventure trail, bonus! The toilet is a compost toilet, which actually once you’ve used to it, is just a toilet, my children thought it was cool!

Gostou: We love this place. Everyone is so kind and friendly. This was our 3rd visit and we had a amazing time. Pizza night at The Castle was a massive hit, it was delicious. We will be back. Thank you so much ❤️

Gostou: We had a lovely waterside pitch midweek and the campsite to ourselves. Couldn't fault anything the pitches well kept and I fed the alpacas with Molly who was a lovely girl, then the next day met Caroline and her son Ollie who really nice. It was Rich and Alice who we saw most and who cooked us lovely reasonably priced meals at the pub. The locals made us feel at home and were really friendly. We had a really lovely walk whilst there and although never found the waterfall are eager to try it again. The icing on the cake for us is a campfire and we had 2 lovely nights sat out watching the birds and lots of bats at dusk. No stars as cloudy but we look forward to going again and felt so refreshed afterwards. Also to mention the drainage is very good and ground firm so no problems moving our motorhome. We have had lots of trouble this year with the wet weather on grass pitches but this one was amazing. No phone signal unless your on 3 but free wi fi in the pub and I just walked 30 yards towards beer garden and could get it when pub shut

Gostou: Second time here we hired the 10person bell tent by the river it was fab my grandkids loved it !!! We had our fire pit and got to feed the Alpacas The pub and hosts our all lovely so friendly I was dubious about the new compost loos but they were great and surprisingly smelt and felt cleaner than most campsite loos!!!! The food in the pub is great and the kids had a game of pool!!!!
