Care to head to Ceredigion, for coastal walks, crowd-free beaches, castles… maybe even catching a glimpse of a passing pod of dolphins? What a cracking idea. And an even more cracking idea is nabbing a few days at Nant-y-croi, on the coast between Aberteifi and Aberporth. If it's easy access to the coast you’re after, you’re in the right place: the Ceredigion Coast Path crosses the farm, for an easy meander to Mwnt beach, 20 minutes away. Even before you set forth for that stroll there are super sea views to be had from the site; gaze out towards the waves for a while and you may well spot the seals, dolphins and seabirds that often pass by these parts. This is a properly peaceful place, but niftily also within easy reach of plenty of ways to fill your West Wales days: more beaches, boat trips, canoeing, golf are all nearby, and you’re well placed for outings to Cilgerran Castle, Cenarth Falls and lots of other scenic spots. For eats, you’re welcome to light up a sea-view barbecue; pick up supplies 10 minutes away in Aberteifi and stash them in the fridge-freezer until it’s coals o’clock. Other amenities on site include a washing-up area, launderette and toilets and showers.

Gostou Honestly I love this place. It’s my new fave spot. I sat by the sea for a few hours and even saw dolphins. Dog friendly site, clean facilities and make sure to say hello to the donkeys and cows! I can’t wait to come back

Gostou This is a very quiet campsite on a working farm. The 3 camping fields are actually hayfields so it really is part of the farm. The facilities are perfectly adequate, there are 2 showers in a separate block and a shower next to the men's loos, also another shower in the ladies. The showers, sinks and loos are all clean. There's also a small kichen with an upright fridge/freezer and also a fridge, so it's really handy for campers who don't want to keep shopping for supplies daily. In the kitchen there is a pay-per-use kettle and also a microwave, these both take 20p coins so take a supply. Be aware that there are no facilities in the lower fields except a portaloo in field 2. Anyone camping there would need to shower etc at the main block in the top field. The view over the bay is lovely and it is only about 10 minutes drive from Cardigan (Aberteifi) for supplies, so it's really handy. Mwnt Beach is a half hour walk or so along the coastal path on the cliff tops, we spotted seals and again, gorgeous views of the sea and cliffs. Anna and Andrew are very kind...when we needed to move our very large tent because of the strong winds, they volunteered to help, so it took much less time and we weren't worn out at the end of it! Really lovely people and always ready with a smile and a wave. This is a traditional campsite for people who want to experience first hand the peace and beauty of this area, it's not somewhere you would choose if you want to pitch up and start playing loud music and making a row. It's also perfect for star gazing so please be kind to others and leave the solar lights in the cupboard! Be aware it's just off the cliff (though set very well back!) so it is exposed to the wind. Campers with larger tents need to take that into consideration and pitch off to the sides ...which we did not do at first lol

Gostou Clean facilities. Hot, powerful shower. The views from the pitches are incredible and it's not far to go dolphin spotting! Staff very friendly and dedicated to make sure campers are happy! Not a far drive to Cardigan if you need a shop, chippy or pub! Nearby beach 'Mwnt' is a lovely place too and only 5-10 mins drive. Didn't want to leave.

Gostou This spot was hands down the best campsite we’ve stayed in Wales. We wanted a quiet campsite where you could pitch up without being surrounded by other campers and feel more like you’re ‘wild’ camping. This was the perfect spot! There are facilities that were clean and quiet (shower block, toilets and a washing up room with microwave and kettle if needed).
But what makes this site special is the VIEW!! You’re looking out directly over the sea and the sunsets are so beautiful. We were lucky to see a bottle nose dolphin right from our tent each morning which made this place so special.

I would recommend staying in the bottom field if you’re looking to feel emersed in nature. Such a peaceful spot. Note - the WIFI doesn’t work down there and there’s no signal (WIFI works well in the top field)

You can access the coastal path directly from the campsite and Mwnt beach is within walking distance from the site.
The town of Cardigan is a 10 minute drive so you can find shops and nice cafes (Crwst) and restaurants (Pizzatipi) to combine camping and a bit of luxury!

Não gostou Not a big issue for us but good to be aware of - No phone signal (EE) and WiFi is only accessible if you get a spot close to the farmhouse.

Atrações locais

Mwnt’s your nearest beach (and mighty lovely it is too), but it’s far from the only sandy stretch worth a visit locally. Also on your list should be Tresaith (20 minutes’ drive), Aberporth (20 minutes), Poppit Sands (25 minutes) and Llangrannog (half an hour). Should you be seeking a bit of exercise along with your sea views, there’s a golf course 10 minutes’ drive away, or you can head into Aberteifi for all sorts of aquatic activity, including surf lessons, sea kayak tours, serene days of paddleboarding or adrenaline-packed coasteering adventures. If you’ve not managed to spot dolphins from the site, you may have more luck on a boat trip from New Quay (40 minutes). Guaranteed sightings of friendly farm animals are five minutes’ drive away at Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park; they’re even friendlier if you feed them. Seals can often be seen basking on the shore here, too. Away from the coast, it’ll take you 20 minutes or so to drive to 13th-century Cilgerran Castle, the Welsh Wildlife Centre and the National Coracle Centre at Cenarth Falls.
