The Côte Fleurie tempting you? Answer its siren call and book in at La Cour de la Grange, sitting in unspoilt private parkland deep in the Pays d’Auge, a region renowned for its traditional cider-making farms amid unspoilt Calvados countryside. All the camping pitches at this prettily landscaped Lower Normandy site are accessed by mown paths and spaced out for privacy in an extensive private garden. A former barn now houses two showers and a separate toilet, a sink for washing up and plenty of hot water to go around everybody. There’s also a sink with cold water for rinsing off muddy boots and a washing machine In the laundry room. The campsite is on a septic tank and sand filter system rather than mains drainage, so please take short showers and remember you’re camping in a private garden rather than on a commercial campsite. Dogs are welcome and there’s a bunch of walks from the pitches – including 'Le Périphérique' around the property’s boundary. All pets must be kept under close control on site, as the owners have their own dogs as well as a flock of free-roaming chickens. Five minutes’ walk takes you to the café at Camping Bellevue, where you can tuck into coffee and snacks as you order bread to pick up the next morning. Stretch that walk to 10 minutes and you'll get to Auberville village centre, which has a supermarket for all your supplies (including breakfast croissants), plus a pizza restaurant and a 'restaurant du midi' serving good-value lunches. There are more restaurant options in the attractive seaside Villers-sur-Mer (five minutes’ drive).

Gostou: L’accueil, l’emplacement du site, la prise de réservation, le contact avec les responsables. Je n’ai pas pensé à bénéficier de la wifi dommage car il y avait très peu de réseau.

Gostou: Location and walk into Viller sur Mer. Camping in the hosts wild flower meadow attached to their home. Small and family run. Friendly and interesting host. Very safe especially for a solo female traveler. All facilities you need albeit rustic. This adds to the charm though. Chickens wandering around.

Não gostou: Not a dislike, more a note of advice. If needing electric Invest in an electric adapter as the sites plug ins are French sockets & not the universal 240 three pins so you require the adaptor.

Gostou: We were made very welcome and the surroundings are beautiful. The facilities were very good, spotless and with hot showers, ideal location for quiet, and perfect for walking and exploring the area, near to beach and local town, Villers Sur Mer which is a lovely little market town.
It is a family home rather than campsite and the experience of staying there, for us, was perfect. We wanted some down time during our travels and we got the chance to enjoy a good walk, and a good book in a lovely setting

Gostou: The location is remote enough for a peaceful and serene stay but close enough to walk to the nearest town (about 1.5 miles away).
Facilities were clean; area to wash dishes, 2 showers & 2 toilets.
The chickens outside the van each morning were a real bonus!
Anne and family were very friendly.

Não gostou: The WiFi was - understandably - limited unless close to the house.
Space was limited as, unfortunately, due to possible rain & soft ground, we were unable to pitch up on the grass. This worked for us in a van but may have been difficult for anyone with a larger vehicle.

Gostou: Very friendly and helpful family that run the site which is located behind their property.
Lovely location and peaceful.
The supplied facilities are clean.

Não gostou: The right turn leaving the lane was very tight for my long outfit.
There are no installed chemical waste arrangements other than lifting the septic pit slab.

Many thanks for our first review of 2025. The very tight turn can be avoided if you turn the other way (towards Houlgate) which still leads to the main road.

Gostou: What can we say… La Cour de la Grange is great!

Billie greeted us when we arrived and was so friendly and helpful. We also met Anne, who was lovely and super chatty. Both made us feel really welcome.

The facilities were good too – the showers and toilets were clean and worked perfectly.

There are loads of lovely walks around the campsite, including a walk to the town of Villers-Sur-Mer. Definitely get walking if you stay here!

We’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing, friendly campsite!

About your 2/10 for Wifi we wonder whether it was because you did not need it, or because you could not find the password. Perhaps we should make it more prominent on our information board. Gostou: The site was quiet and peaceful with beautiful scenery. It is very well placed to get to the D-day landing beaches. Anne, the pitch owner, was very helpful. Water in shower was hot and plentiful

To find the site, enter Camping Bellevue, Villers-sur-Mer into satnav. Drive past that campsite and fork left down Chemin Blandin. After about 1 km there is a house on a sharp bend; turn right down Chemin de la Cour and the campsite entrance is 60 metres up this lane.

Atrações locais

Pretty Villers-sur-Mer (five minutes’ drive/35 minutes’ walk) is a lively Côte Fleurie seaside town with a long stretch of sandy beach within walking distance of the campsite on quiet country lanes and cliff-top footpaths. Look out for summer concerts, lots of terrace restaurants and the palaeontology museum displaying fossils found in the cliffs of the Falaises des Vaches Noires (currently closed off from visitors). Fashionable Deauville (20 minutes) has a popular promenade bordering the beach and is home to the famed Deauville-La Touques racecourse and the American Film Festival, which is held in September. Other gorgeous local towns include imposing Trouville-sur-Mer (25 minutes), known for its fish market and casino, and pretty Honfleur (40 minutes), packed with harbour-front seafood restaurants. Like seafood, cider is a regional speciality, and you can follow the Normandy Cider Route (15 minutes) for tastings at several farms – be sure to stop off at the attractive half-timbered village of Beuvron-en-Auge (25 minutes) en route.
