Lake District walks by day and a cosy place to stay by night– if that sounds like just what you've got in mind, take a look at Windermere Luxury Camping Pods. This Cumbria glamping spot is part of a traditional working farm in the village of Winster, with stunning views of the Lyth Valley and the Lakeland mountains. It's a nifty spot for a Lake District getaway, with animals to see, numerous walking trails around the farm (particularly lovely for a little sunset stroll…) and the amenities of Bowness-on-Windermere (pubs, restaurants and shops among them) about five minutes' drive away. That location puts you within easy reach of all sorts of activities including hiking, climbing, fishing, watersports and golf, plus attractions like The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the National Trust’s Hill Top. But while the location is an enviable one, it's not the only selling point for this place. The pods are just as lovely, with spectacular views from the deck (which has a barbecue for a bit of scenic outdoor cooking). Each pod has a shower room, a TV and a kitchen (with hob, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer and all the utensils). Luxury bed linen and towels (and a few welcome treats) are included, and wifi and underfloor heating are handy extra touches.

Gostou This is the perfect place for a weekend getaway in the Lakes! We stayed here for 3 nights, and we couldn’t recommend it more. The host is super friendly, and provided the warmest welcome with flowers, drinks and cookies.

The mini kitchen has everything you’d need, and the bathroom is modern. The pod is also toasty, with underfloor heating for if it gets cold and a radiator in the bathroom.

It’s best to access the pod by car, of which it has a parking spot. It’s in the prime location, with only a 10-minute drive to Windermere village (where there’s a Booths), 20-minute drive to Ambleside and 30-minute drive to Grasmere.

I can’t forget to mention the stunning view outside the front door! It’s the best place for a quiet retreat.

We’ll definitely try to come back!

Gostou The host is friendly and responsive, giving clear instructions. Great quiet location with amazing views. The pod is impeccable and we received some extra sweets from Sue as well.
