Gostou It is a truly beautiful location but...

Não gostou ... it is not peaceful, as advertised. It says "the camping field is peaceful and quiet," and repeats the word "peaceful" again in the next sentence, but there are bird scarers which sound like shot guns placed all round, meaning from 4.45am to 11.30pm you feel like you're being shot at. It is really jarring! And very noisy. It spoils the whole experience. We left after one night. Owner refused to discuss on phone, insisted on an email which he said would be responded to within 7 days (which felt a bit much!), but we still haven't heard anything and we're past that point. Not promising! Looking at previous reviews suggets this has been known about for well over a year, so leaving the "peaceful" description feels like false advertising.

Gostou the location just outside of Holt is absolutely beautiful.

Não gostou While the website mentions a lake for kids to paddle in, we were disappointed to find numerous signs prohibiting swimming upon arrival. This was particularly challenging to explain to my excited son, who was looking forward to splashing around.

During check-in, we were directed to the 'welcome hut,' which turned out to be nonexistent. With no one around and a lack of signage, we found ourselves guessing where to go next.

The campsite itself is somewhat cramped, with no designated spots, which made it feel quite crowded. Unfortunately, we also had a campervan nearby playing loud music late into the night.

Additionally, the washing-up facilities & toilets appeared to be in dire need of cleaning.

You are absolutely right that our website is misleading regarding the lake. We sincerely apologize for the frustration this caused you and your son. For safety reasons, we do not allow swimming, and our website should reflect this. We are taking that photo down and updating the description immediately.

We are also sorry for the confusion at check-in. The lack of a 'welcome hut' and clear signage is a failure on our part. We are also sorry that the crowded layout and a neighbor's loud music negatively impacted your stay. We are reviewing our pitch layout and how we manage noise.

Finally, there is no excuse for the cleanliness issues you encountered. We sincerely apologize that our facilities were not up to standard. We are implementing a more rigorous cleaning schedule to ensure this doesn't happen again.

Gostou Everything, fantastic location in the hear of Norfolk with all the good spots within ~30 minutes. Great facilities and just a really beautiful place to stay.

Gostou The setting was beautiful. Lovely spot near the pond, great campfire area with comfy chairs.

Não gostou Inability to get in touch with management as there was only one working shower that was cold. No cleaning done in the sanitary building during our stay. Too expensive campsite to be lacking this.

Gostou A big positive was the staff contacting us on the day of arrival with helpful information about what to do, which was appreciated since we didn't see any staff during our visit. The campsite itself is simple but beautiful, offering all the basic facilities you'd expect for camping. The lakeside view was very much a wow factor, and upon arrival, we thought the price, which wasn't cheap, would be worth it for such a nice view to relax and wake up to.

Não gostou There were significant disruptions that impacted our experience. We encountered one large group of young people shouting, partying, and playing music into the early hours, and another couple also blasting music late at night. It was difficult to take in the tranquil beauty and observe the abundant wildlife with dance music blaring. Implementing a rule for no music after a certain time and a quiet camp policy would greatly benefit all campers.

The biggest issue, which truly ruined any chance of a tranquil atmosphere, was the continuous bird-scaring cannons in adjacent fields. They finally stopped around 11:30 PM, offering some relief, but then started up again at 4:20 AM. We were unable to sleep because of these cannons. While these noises might be common in the countryside, knowing about them beforehand would have definitely made us reconsider our plans for a relaxing weekend away.
