Crows Nest Caravan Park

Polubione We had a great time, we camped near the cliff top.
We had phone signal, toilets, showers, a shop and entertainment.
What more do you need?
The staff needed a bit of cheering up but apart from that...cracking.
We will return, gladly.

Large toilet and shower block which is cleaned regularly.

On site fish and chip shop is very good!

Handy little shop on site to sell basics, and even bags of ice for cool box.

The ability to pitch your tent wherever you wish if staying non electric.

Entertainment in the bar for both adults and children, and when checking in get info for opening times for everything etc.

Location is great, and access to nature trails along the cliff. Can walk to Scarborough (6 miles) and Filey (3 miles)

Short drive to Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington/Whitby so lots to explore!

Tesco, Lidl etc short drive away to stock up on food/drink

Niepolubione Swimming pool is smaller than imagined which wasn’t an issue, but the chlorine strength was over powering and myself and the kids could only manage 10 minutes as eyes were burning! Either too much chemicals, or simply lack of ventilation as no windows open.

Due to being able to pitch where you want some people would lack common sense and try pitch a tent too close for comfort.

Polubione Lots of amazing facilities like a bar, swimming pool, shop which is well stocked, playground for the kids and it’s in a great location. There were portaloos available for the overflow field.

Niepolubione The portaloos had no water for washing hands and were often out of toilet roll. The toilet blocks also ran out of paper a lot even though I know the site team did drive around in the mornings to refill. I wonder whether a spare needs leaving in each cubicle?

The overflow field is only used at the busiest times of year, with portaloos provided as an extra facility alongside the main toilet and shower blocks. Our staff check and restock toilet paper regularly, but your suggestion about leaving a spare in each cubicle is very helpful and we’ll look into it for next year. Polubione Staff happy to accommodate a pitch request. The site is in an amazing location, so be prepared for it to be very busy. Everything you need is on the site, a great place to keep everyone entertained.

Niepolubione I didn’t realise it was such a large field with so many pitches. It’s great for those looking for a bustling holiday but we prefer quiet. Luckily they were very happy to let us pitch up away from all the fun. Also as so many people it was hard for the cleaning team to keep on top of the showers and toilets.

Polubione The area was ideal as it was a short journey to Scarborough. Supermarket on site was reasonably priced and staff were friendly.

Niepolubione Stayed two nights for bank holiday weekend from the Saturday. Straight away you could see the overflow was overcrowded. There was 8-10 porta-loos which were absolutely disgusting. Often no toilet roll, left in a mess, the smell was over bearing, only seen them cleaned once a day. By evening they were that bad you couldn't use them.

Bar was rowdy and very busy, drinks were limited. Fish and chips shop ran out of food by 7 we were told to go back at 8.30.

The site was noisy late at night, especially Sunday night with loud music blasting. Shouting from other parties. The noise from the main road was also very loud (even though we weren't anywhere near the sides of the site)

Kids didn't get a chance to go to the pool as it was full .. Too many people in at once it was hectic.

The toilets are cleaned multiple times per day, though of course they can be left untidy in between by users. The pool was particularly busy on the Sunday morning and a one-in, one-out system was in place to ensure safety, but it remained open throughout. Our fish and chip shop cooks food fresh to order, which can mean waiting times, but it did not run out of food at any time. We’re pleased you found the shop reasonably priced and staff friendly.

Niepolubione Unfortunately I chose to go over the August bank holiday weekend and the site was absolutely ‘rammed’ so, instead of the sweeping cliff top sea views I was expecting, we were directed to the very busy overflow field at the bottom of the site which was a good distance away from the main toilet blocks/ showers and other facilities. Temporary toilets placed in the field but many didn’t work properly.
