Mi è piaciuto: Great space, clean toilets and shower block (there is only one toilet though) and the pub was brilliant for dinner and breakfast.

Non mi è piaciuto: The bays need marking out for the motor homes / caravans. It was quite confusing in terms of the pitch size and space and other motorhomes had taken pitches reserved for other people. We were left to sort it out without much help from the pub

Mi è piaciuto: New shower block was lovely

Non mi è piaciuto: We had a specific reserved pitch but on arrival all pitches were occupied. I asked someone to show us to our pitch which a young girl did but someone was in our spot another camper said that everyone had occupied the wrong space and I would have to park next to a wall which was not ideal . Campers should be shown to their space on arrival as I understand from previous reviews this happens a lot.

Mi è piaciuto: Limited number of spaces but that was a bonus for me.

There are enough facilities and the toilet/ showers were brand-new.

You can get meals in the pub and there is a deli takeaway if required. About a five min drive to Coniston.

Non mi è piaciuto: You do have to share outside seating with drinkers but as they will most likely be visitors to the area they should be like minded people there for hikes/water sports.

Mi è piaciuto: If you are walking Old Man Coniston and don't want to go the main route this is a perfect location for a 10 mile loop.

Non mi è piaciuto: You are basically pitched in a roped off section of the car park behind the pub. The pitches are really close together with 4 horizontally and two are supposed to park vertically at the bottom. Problem is if new people arrive when you have nipped out in your van and they park the wrong way you can't really get back to your pitch. This happened to us when we nipped into Windermere for something to eat with friends. The pub told us nothing at check in apart from pitch number. This is probably why people are parking the wrong way as they have no instructions or info from the bar.

The pub goes use the benches right next to your van when it is nice to have their beer which is a bit close for comfort if you are in your van with the door open with a young child.

Mi è piaciuto: Peaceful pitch, great food- big portions and very tasty. Staff super friendly and helpful. Communal showers/toilet brand new and shower really really nice.

Mi è piaciuto: Great pub, gorgeous food & friendly staff.
Brand new shower / toilet installed. Lots of hot water & immaculate. Level , hard standing pitches with water point, aerial & EHU.
Beautiful scenery . Approx one hour walk into Coniston . Another walk to a nearby waterfall.
Our only niggle was the closeness of the motorhomes once in situ. Not only were they parked in a row , but also in front against a wall, but across the fronts of the in line vehicles. This happened all weekend , although the vehicles were changing. We all commented that getting out in an emergency would be impossible or very , very difficult as no 'swing' on the larger units.
Loved the pub , facilities but a little more room pls. The man with the small bike trailer moved across the front of everyone in order to start his journey early the next morning as he would not have got out otherwise !!
