Me gustó Nice site,on a working farm,but being surrounded by animals is very theraputic, showers and toilets allways clean and tidy,pitch relatively level, food in the 2 local pubs absouloutely brilliant, thouroughly nice stay

Me gustó Spacious site ,quite peaceful for a farm setting basic toilets and showers but very clean. Pitches level but slopes access.

No me gustó Booking in problem if no Internet coverage as Cumbria is low coverage for me.

Me gustó Easy to get to location. Big hard standing pitches. Great views. Village within easy walking distance. Lots of great walking close by. Owner answered messages quickly and was very accommodating.

No me gustó Only 10 hard standing pitches so limited washroom facilities. Not the owners fault but other visitors who didn't flush toilets or clean showers after use. With only 2 self contained washrooms this meant a clean of them before we used them!!

Me gustó A good quiet site on a working farm, we had a warm welcome on arrival. There was plenty of space between the pitches.
Just what we were after.

Me gustó Small quiet sight, excellent pitches and good facilities.
Staff very friendly, helpful and always available.
Could do with a local information board for walks, pubs, shops etc.

Me gustó Quiet campsite, children liked the animals and (self made branch on rope, by previous visitors I would guess) tree swing at the back of the grounds

Toilets needed cleaning
Only 1 toilet for 2 fields of campers but 4 showers?
We stayed here back in 2023 and it was a lovely site, not so sure I would return after my recent visit.
Didn't stay the 2 nights like we intended
I understand it's a working farm but to have dead sheep laid rotting was disgusting to see, especially with children walking around who aren't used to seeing such things.

Me gustó The staged/stepped pitches on a hill so you could see over the other units. Lovely area good for visiting coastline, the lake district and the pennine's.
Two self contained shower toilet blocks for 10 Pitches, kept clean.
Goats, calves and lambs to see. A small play area in with the tent pitching area. Village pub close by.

Me gustó Lovely rolling site with flat pitches and areas for groups, near to a river and lots of trees present for some shade.
Animals on site is nice, like ponies and goats. Friendly farm cat and dog sometimes poddled over.
Cute and rustic looking building for camping facilities near a shepherds hut.
Friendly owners

Great community pub in Hesket Newmarket just 10 mins walk. Good locally brewed real ales and food.
Lovely walks from campsite inc up onto fells, or quiet lanes for cycling were great too. Rolling terrain and pretty villages. The hike up the fells from Mungrisdale towards Blencathra is great.

No me gustó 2 groups were present for the Saturday night which we were there, one of which created quite a lot of rubbish. This didn't affect us as such, but it was around the facilities and we collected much of this up as it was drifting towards the lovely river.

It felt a bit that because we were the only tent left on site for the next 3 nights it was low priority to clear the rest of this up or clean the facilities. They were OK, but didnt appear to have been cleaned (or the van facilities, as we were advised we could use too).
There is one toilet for campers, and two (in with the showers) for the vans and caravans, so may be a challenge if site full..although we didn't see the site ever full.
