Acorn Meadow

Me gustó: This is such a beautiful meadow. As we got there we was welcomed by Fred himself who is so friendly and lovely. He gave us a map to show us the local walks and told us where the local shops is.

Toilets, showers are lovely and clean! Electric shower which was a bonus.

We are definitely coming back here for a longer stay soon.
High recommend.

Me gustó: The location, the cleanliness of the facilities, and the general upkeep of the site. As for Fred the owner, you will not find a more friendly and accommodating person even loaned me a cover for my bike.

No me gustó: What's to dislike? not a thing for me.

Me gustó: We had a great stay in the pod at this campsite. The pod was well equipped, warm and homely. There was plenty of room for the two of us and our collie sized dog. There are lots of walks right on your doorstep and the nearby pub has a great selection of drinks. Fred was really friendly and helpful when we arrived and even left some beer and wine in the fridge for us. I would definitely recommend this campsite, we had such a lovely couple of nights. There's also good phone signal here.

Me gustó: Everything! The site itself is beautiful. Plenty of space within the pitches. Quiet location but near enough to everything so is perfect. We stayed not long ago in March and couldn’t wait to come back. Fred is super friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Me gustó: The campsite owner, Fred, was very welcoming and made our overnight stay very easy and comfortable. He even lent us a big lock for our two bikes. Reassuring although probably not necessary. This is a simple, tidy campsite with clean shower and toilet facilities. Good food at the nearby Chequers pub.

Me gustó: Everything! Peaceful. Beautiful. Close to the pingo trails and the peddlers way for lovely walks. In a quiet village location. Facilities were spotless. Fred was friendly and welcoming. We are looking forward to staying here again when we walk the peddlers way.

Me gustó: I chose this place to have a couple of days downtime on my own. I was extremely lucky with two gorgeously sunny days.
The communication with the owner was superb, confirming my booking within an hour. He asked what time I would be arriving and met me on site to welcome me and show me around the pod. I'm used to camping, so I brought a few items that I thought I may need (camping chair, small table for my drink, my own pillow, etc). I didn't even get them out of the car once I saw how well equipped the pod was!
The pod has an extremely comfortable double bed, with four pillows (soft, and memory foam). There's a two seater sofa that pulls out into a sofa bed too.
On one side of the pod there's a kitchen area with sink and draining board, equipped with a small fridge, microwave, a CD radio and a kettle. In one of the cupboards there was also an air fryer and a toaster. Four sets of crockery and cutlery, plus mugs, drinks glasses and wine glasses. There was plenty of hot water to wash up.
The owner had also left me coffee, tea bags and milk, with a bottle of rosé wine in the fridge 😍! I honestly didn't think I would be so well looked after!
The bathroom was spotlessly clean. The shower worked really well. Remember to bring your own towels.
There's a heater for colder times, but I didn't need to use it.
Outside, the raised patio area has chairs and a table. There's also solar lighting in the form of fairy lights just under the the pod eaves, and what looks like a street light, for sitting outside in the evenings. The site itself is also gently lit at night, with fairy lights in the trees.
Just 10 minutes walk away is a friendly local thatched village pub, which serves food at lunch and dinner. They also have a couple of real ales on pump. I felt very comfortable there as a solo female. Just remember to bring a torch with you as the lanes get very dark at night when you lose track of time 😁
I almost don't want to give such a brilliant review because it feels like my little secret oasis, but Fred was a wonderful host, and he deserves to sell this place out all year round 😍

No me gustó: I cannot fault this place at all. Brilliantly equipped, in a beautiful setting, with a great little local pub. I will be back soon!

Me gustó: Quiet, sunny spot, in a small village with easy access into nearby woodland, Thompson water, and the beautiful Pingo Trail.

Facilities were very clean.

Fred was very accommodating, providing a map, showing me the facilities and being available to help.

Me gustó: Campsite was great - very quiet and clean. Fred was extremely friendly and accomodating for whatever we needed. We would absolutely stay here again!
