Greenacres Campsite

Me gustó: A wonderfully friendly and tranquil campsite. Despite reception being closed the note on the door welcomed us and advised us of our pitch. All amenities available ! Even fire pits can be rented. The shower and toilet block are pristine! There are hairdryers too. Staff are super friendly and helpful and the reception also does cooked breakfast. The staff advised us about walks, footpaths and their knowledge of the local area is excellent. Tip: don't forget you campervan ramps to get your van level!

No me gustó: A bit of a hike to the village, so stayed onsite in the evening. The odd microlight flew nearby. But I believe this is very occasional.

I am sorry to hear that you were inconvenienced by reception being closed but you did not arrive until gone 6 Sunday evening having booked at quarter past four that evening. As a small family run site, we are open as much as is possible but we do like to have our Sunday evenings off to recharge. We do hope to welcome you back

Me gustó: Very clean shower block and always ample hot water for washing up. Plenty of space for the tent pitch and parking of car. Lovely coffee shop and basic supplies available to buy.

No me gustó: The site has a quiet time between 8 am & 10 pm. However on the Friday night there were children and adults shouting until 11 pm and on the Saturday night one of our party had to go and ask a very large group of adults and children at 10.30 pm to keep the noise down. Apparently they were running organised games for the children and were not aware of the 10 pm quiet time. This is advertised on the website and the brochure we are given on arrival. This perhaps should be highlighted on arrival at the campsite as we were not overly happy with the constant noise.

Our quiet time policy from 10 PM to 8 AM is clearly stated on the website and in the brochures provided at check-in. Everyone is made aware of this noise policy and we do expect all our guests to adhere to it. It is disappointing that on this occasion a minority has spoiled it for you. We live on site and make regular checks and did deal with a noise issue on the Friday. As a result, we made extra checks on the Saturday and all seemed fine when we left at 10.15. We were not made aware of any issues later that evening and are truly sorry and disappointed to hear that you were adversely affected. We can only assure you that this is the exception to the rule for us and does not happen very often. If we are made aware of it we do deal with it. We do hope that you will return and give us a second chance, especially as you seem to have loved the rest of the site.

Me gustó: The setting of this campsite was perfect for my 18 month old son, peaceful with lots of green space for him to run around and a wonderful play park within a 10 minute walk. There were a number of beautiful walks to go on straight from the campsite and it was easy and quick to walk into town. There were some many amazing place to visit within a 10 minute drive that we were rarely in the car for more than that in order to visit Puzzlewood, Perrygrove Steam Train and a Butterfly Zoo - all really reasonable and a great day out for my little one. On the campsite, the toilets and showers were always beautifully clean and the wet room for family facilities suited us perfectly. The café and shop offered a great variation of useful and fun things and you can even hire table tennis paddles to play a few games on site. Take aways were offered on some nights and it was easy to get some meals delivered to the campsite if needed - the fish and chips especially were yummy! The staff that work there are amazing - always willing to help with anything you needed and very friendly. We did have a couple of noisy nights from a large party of campers that arrived over the weekend and this was apologised for by the owners and promised to address it immediately. I would definitely return again and hopefully soon!

No me gustó: There were a few niggles but this did not spoil any part of our holiday. The lights in the facilities being on a timer was tricky with a little one as he wasn't keen on being in the dark after a minute or so of waiting for mumma in the toilet! It also made showering after he had gone to bed an interesting experience in the dark! The site was gorgeous but we did struggle to find some shade - not a problem for a lot of people but with a little one I would definitely bring more options for shade with me next time.

Me gustó: Easy to find, friendly staff. Good, clean facilities. Smallish but well laid out site.

No me gustó: Water pressure was variable but it’s a minor thing.

Me gustó: Really excellent campsite. Clean shower block, great little cafe/shop and a nice size. The only thing that needs improving is the playground for smaller children.
