The brains behind Camping Belle-Vue 2000 say they'd like you to feel the force of nature – and feel it you most certainly will, thanks to the site’s open countryside setting in eastern Luxembourg’s lush ‘Little Switzerland’ hiking region. Not that it’s just about the trekking here. Simply basking on the grass at this peaceful park is also a top choice – the place has been set up on a gentle slope (part of a hillside rising 373 metres into the sky), and faces south for getting the best of the weather on sunny days. Plonk yourself down and supervise the kids at the site’s adventure playground, perhaps chomping on cheese from the fromagerie a couple of minutes’ walk down the road in Berdorf as you do. Surrounded by a stunning landscape of fields and forests with rocks, caves and brooks to dawdle around, and looking out on the Black Ernz, Sure and Aesbech valleys, Berdorf’s one of Luxembourg’s main tourist centres. The scenery’s stunning whether you’re wandering close by to the Hohllay Cave and Aquatower Berdorf, both less than 15 minutes’ walk away, or setting forth for the famed Müllerthal Trail through silt marshes with soul-stirring viewpoints to stop off at. With this site as your base, you’ll be well set up for explores, and for the post-explore recovery period: there’s a shop, laundry facilities and wifi connection on site, along with well-maintained bathrooms that have both cold and hot water.

Liked De ontzettend goede service! Bij het inchecken bij de balie bleek dat ik online een foutje had gemaakt. Verkeerde data ingevoerd. Maar de man achter de receptie regelde zo even een andere plek voor me. Ook heel behulpzaam als ik iets anders nodig had! Sanitair was schoon en netjes! Locatie is gelegen op 10 min van het prachtige Mullerthal

Disliked De indeling van de camping. Veel rechthoekige standplaatsen met veel stukken zonder gras. Dicht op elkaar.

Disliked Pitch was on a slight slope which was a problem as it rained most of the night and all the rain water collected at the bottom of the pitch.

Liked Great location. A walker’s paradise, with Luxembourg City a free bus ride away. Pleasant staff. Decent sized grass pitch, though grass very worn by the time we arrived.
A small shop is quite well stocked with basics and local wines.
For parents, excellent playground with zip wire, and child-friendly.

Disliked The toilet blocks are tired and in need of updating. Cleaning is below par, with loo roll and hand soap regularly running out.
Entrance is very tight with inadequate space for parking while checking in.

Liked Prijs kwaliteit ligt echt hoog!! Had dit voor de lage kosten niet verwacht. Het ontvangst was al positief. Enthousiast ontvangen en heldere uitleg zonder poespas. Huisje schoon en netjes.
Opgemaakte bedden en zelfs handoeken liggen klaar.
Ook.nog een kleine verrassing om de vakantie in te luiden.
Vanuit de camping loop je de route e1 zo op richting echternach. En vanuit berdorf info punt opties genoeg om uit te kiezen.

Disliked De camping zelf was geweldig.
Maar hou rekening met vliegen!! In grote getalen aanwezig.

Local attractions

Berdorf’s rich in things to do. Start with a wander to Hohllay Cave (15 minutes' walk), hollowed out by miners who left a scarred surface behind in their quest to conjure up rounded millstones. Sort tickets for a concert in this natural amphitheatre – they're on every now and again – then head over to the Aquatower Berdorf, a technology museum in a water tower with smashing views out over the green landscape (15 minutes). Once you’re back down on the ground, drive to Echternach (10 minutes), the oldest town in the Grand Duchy, and snake around the winding streets seeking out city wall remnants, the Benedictine abbey and a gothic townhouse before moving over to the lake on the town’s perimeter to rove around the ruins of the biggest Roman villa north of the Alps. From here, continue to the German-Luxembourgish Nature Park (25 minutes’ drive) to amble around the deep Devil's Gorge and pretty Irreler Waterfall.
