Camping Provence Ventoux

- Peaceful, tree-shaded Vaucluse site at the foot of Mont Ventoux
- The Lavender Trail 10 minutes’ drive; Montbrun-les-Bains 20 minutes
- Swimming pool and pétanque; bike hire and easy access to cycle rides
Whether challenging cycling rides or lazing in the sun are what you’re after on your Vaucluse sojourn, Camping Provence Ventoux has got you nicely covered. Shaded by mature trees, this site is within easy striking distance of the notorious Mont Ventoux biking trail, but there’s also a pool with a spacious sundeck that lends itself to leisurely swims and snoozes for those with something more relaxed in mind.
Kids can splash about in the toddler pool or have a run about at the designated play area, and the site has ping-pong tables as well as a pétanque court for a bit of friendly family competition.
Enthusiastic site owners Estelle and Jérémy are fully committed to you having the best holiday possible. They’re happy to dispense sightseeing advice in their tourist information centre and rent out bikes too. Should you need anything food-wise during your stay, the typically pretty Provençal town of Sault (five minutes’ drive) has a large supermarket as well as specialist shops selling regional produce.
And finally, the spotless facilities block has separate areas for men and women, and powerful showers with an abundance of hot water – great news for any sweaty cyclists after conquering Mont Ventoux.

Local attractions
Many of you will be keen for an assault on Mont Ventoux (an hour and 10 minutes by bike), but there are plenty of other active options in the area. If you have a head for heights, try paragliding (15 minutes’ drive), or have a go at canyoning and kayaking along the Sorgue River (20 minutes). There’s also a via ferrata rock-climbing course (also 20 minutes), and horse riding at an equestrian centre about 40 minutes’ drive away.
For more sedate days out, you can tour purple-hued lavender fields and buy local honey at La Ferme aux Lavandes (10 minutes) – to see more Provençal landscapes covered in fragrant lavender, follow the five-km Lavender Trail (also 10 minutes) on foot or by bike.
There are several gorgeous villages to discover in this peaceful corner of Provence. Start with the pretty squares and houses sitting on cliffs at Sault (five minutes), before heading for the fortified village of Mormoiron (half an hour) or the tiny hamlet of Blauvac (35 minutes) with its amazing views to Mont Ventoux. Montbrun-les-Bains (20 minutes) is also known for its multi-storey stone houses and the curative properties of its thermal waters.
