Find your way to the fab Le Coeur Du Moulin for a brill break close to the geographic centre of France. This top-notch place is set around the ruins of an 18th-century watermill on a vast fishing lake, so it’s very much easy on the eye. The surrounding area is also scenic – head out on the nearby walking paths and country roads to get a load of the landscape before retreating to the park for a splash about in the pool. Follow up a dip with a glass of wine in the large, green garden and perhaps a bit of grub grilled on the barbecue. For more meal options, make your way to nearby settlements in the Allier department. The region is scattered with plenty of pretty villages, flea markets and cheese farms, as well as a whopping 500 castles. It’s also home to the Saint Pourçain wine region – so there’s no excuse not to schedule a tasting at a vineyard. Bring a bottle of vin back to the park to stuff in your suitcase as a souvenir, then expend any energy you've got left during a session in the games room, on the tennis courts or at the pétanque pitch. Fishing’s also fantastic at the lake and bikes are available to hire on site for riding off into the countryside. Once you’re back again and dusk starts setting in, don’t forget to look up at the night sky. Because of the lack of light pollution in the area, the Milky Way sparkles overhead on clear evenings.

La bienveillance et l'engouement de la propriétaire

Disliked Des couvertures auraient été les bienvenus car à certaines périodes de l'année les nuits sont fraiches.
En montagne, dans les refuges c'est un minimum. La table de repas a besoin d'être refaite.

Liked L’accueil, l’endroit, la propreté, la disponibilité, la piscine car il faisait chaud, ce retour à la nature car on ne voit même pas une route de là où on est, bref, TOUT !
Et surtout : nous étions en panne… la gentille propriétaire a appelé un garage (qui nous a dépannés en 48 h!! Un exploit là aussi !!) et s’est arrangée pour nous loger dans un cabanon en bois. Quelle vue ensoleillée le matin au réveil ! MERCI POUR TOUT, NOUS REVIENDRONS VOUS VOIR. Céline et Lionel

Liked What an awesome campsite, the owners were so welcoming and kind. Everything was very clean and it was quiet and tranquil. Our two boys loved jumping in the pool. There was a very nice Carp lake where the boys enjoyed fishing catching the most beautiful carp and catfish. My youngest son enjoyed catching frogs and lizards as well.

We really enjoyed our stay it was one of the best places we have ever stayed. We will definitely be back again for either a stop over or a holiday.

The owners could not of been more helpful, they told us about local sites and amazing mediaeval festival that was happening in a nearby town. We all loved our stay thank you so much and we can’t wait to return

Liked Lovely site, picturesque area, very tranquil and clean. Toilets and shower block was great too with hot water.

Hosts were friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was lovely.

Absolutely loved it, will definitely go back.
