  • Small, peaceful family-run site just outside Marloes village
  • Among spectacular scenery a hike or short drive from the beach
  • Two and a half miles from boat trips to Skomer Island
Head way out west, almost to the far end of a Pembrokeshire peninsula and a peaceful break at Foxdale Campsite, on the edge of the village of Marloes: this small site 25 minutes’ drive west of Haverfordwest is surrounded by splendid scenery, and the pitches are fully sheltered from the breezes that occasionally buffet the nearby coast. There are some fab hikes around here (particularly for those who choose to treat their boots to a jaunt on the always-scenic Pembrokeshire Coast Path), and some equally excellent options for other ways to see this cracking stretch of coastline: might you be tempted by wildlife-watching boat trips, windsurfing days, surf lessons or galloping through the shallows on horseback perhaps? Such levels of activity aren’t compulsory, of course (cue sigh of relief from folks seeking flop time). The marvellous Marloes Sands is a mere mile and a half away for easy beach days – the place is so pretty it’s even earned itself a role in a Hollywood film (part of Snow White and the Huntsman was filmed here in 2011). To feed your outings (whatever they may be), settle in for meals at the pub a short stroll away. Takeaways and breakfasts are available from the on-site food trailer at weekends and during busy days during the summer (please call the site to check the availability before your stay). Essential amenities are all sorted on site: basic showers and toilets, laundry facilities, a fridge-freezer and a washing-up area. The village also has a pizza takeaway, a short walk away. The nearest shop is at a café in Dale, 10 minutes' drive away.

What customers say

This small, friendly, well-kept site is perfect for exploring Pembrokeshire's coast. Guests love the clean facilities, new showers, and helpful staff. The food van and shop are big hits. It's a bit quiet with few shops nearby, but its proximity to beaches and Skomer Island makes it a top pick for a peaceful trip.

Liked Toilet and wash facilities are great, clean and tidied frequently. washing up area is perfect along with a communal fridge and freezer.
The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful and run a good well stocked shop which sells pretty much anything you’d need.
Location is beautiful and remote. We had good privacy on our pitch which we loved and had no problems with the electric. Our pitch was level although the site does sit on a very small slope.
Beaches close by all within walking distance.
The food van on site is absolutely spot on. The packed lunches were filling and had enough in, we also had a dinner from there which was lovely had a nice home made feel to it. Well priced also.

If you’re concerned about phone service is was fine. There’s no wifi but you’re camping so who cares really.

Liked Very quiet location on edge of village but close to beaches, bird watching (islands, mere and deer park), enough space for children to play and good facilities (why don't all campsites provide a freezer?), very friendly hosts and a bonus well stocked shop.

Disliked Male toilets being renovated, but no queues so no bother

Primitive grass campsite

Liked ·Great location to access lots of lovely bays in the area.
·Facilities were really good. Appreciated good-sized showers and on site shop and food truck.
·Owners and wardens were really helpful. Even had a little local history lesson which led us to visiting a lovely quiet bay we wouldn't have discovered otherwise. Thanks Gwyn!

Local attractions

The local beach – an energetic walk or a very short drive away – is clean, uncrowded Marloes Sands, a huge expanse of beach at low tide, with rockpools and unusual cliff formations for added drama. Turn your sights in the opposite direction to hit the north Pembrokeshire coast with a 10-minute drive for the views over St Bride’s Bay. Hop on a boat at nearby Martin’s Haven for the 15-minute crossing to Skokholm and Skomer islands, bliss for birdwatchers: as well as cormorants, razorbills and many other sea birds, between April and August the islands play home to a sizeable puffin colony. Skomer is also a good place to see grey seals, although you can often spot them from dry land as well, during the short walk around the cliff tops at Martin’s Haven Deer Park (no deer, but spectacular wildflowers and sea views). For active types, there are many more fab walks along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, as well as golf, sailing, windsurfing, sea fishing and pony trekking nearby. Also within a 45-minute drive are the teeny city of St Davids, family-friendly days at Oakwood Theme Park and Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo… plus Pembrokeshire beaches galore of course…
