Meadow electric grass & gravel pitches

  • Peaceful park next to the River Forth, two miles from Aberfoyle
  • In Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, a half-hour drive from Stirling
  • Well-kept pitches with direct access to Loch Ard Forest; dogs welcome
If you’re setting off for Stirlingshire with your eye on finding lots of alfresco activities, you should certainly consider Cobleland Campsite as a base. A couple of miles south of Aberfoyle, this peaceful park is in the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, just on the edge of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. That setting means miles and miles of walking and cycling trails stretch out through the surrounding area, with fishing and golf close by too – and watersports, treetop trails, cliff jumping and the like for more intrepid guests. And in fact you don't have to travel far to get started on soaking up the spectacular scenery – you can simply stick around on site, where oak trees tower over the pitches and there’s a backdrop of pretty forest views with the River Forth running along one side of the site. Just beyond the river are paths taking you straight out into Loch Ard Forest for a woodland wander or a dog walk if you’ve brought your pet with you. The pitches at Cobleland are well tended and spacious, with access to all the essential amenities including a launderette, a washing-up area and chemical disposal as well as bathrooms with toilets, showers and disabled facilities. Aberfoyle (five minutes’ drive) has a small supermarket for supplies, plus several places to eat and drink.

What customers say

Beautiful, well-kept campground with friendly staff. Guests love the clean facilities, riverside/woodland spots, and spacious sites. Very dog-friendly with great walks. On-site shop & coffee van are hits. Peaceful, though some noted close pitches/occasional noise. Many plan to revisit.

Meadow powered grass and gravel campsite

Liked This campsite has everything you could possibly need! Cafe, food vans, showers, toilets, shop, person on site, lights, next to water. The whole place was just fabulous! Beautiful place, fantastic walks. Surrounded by trees and nature. Can’t wait for our next trip!

Disliked The only thing that I didn’t really like and is only a personal preference, I thought the pitches were quite close together.
After camping in other areas in Scotland, this felt a bit close to others. It hasn’t put me off returning as we are hoping to visit again next month.

Meadow powered grass and gravel campsite

Liked Toilets and showers and wash up area clean and tidy. Only a 5 min drive or short walk to Aberfoyle where there are pubs and shops. Nice walk (30 min) through the forest to the Black Bull at Gartmore which has lovely food. Good park for children to play in which was opposite our tent. Nice views of the river on the other side. Great location for visiting Stirling, Loch Lomond or Glasgow. Burger van and pizza van on site in high season.

Disliked WiFi would be handy.

Meadow powered grass and gravel campsite

Liked This well maintained campsite is in easy walking or cycling distance of Aberfoyle. Pitches are well looked after and the toilet blocks are clean. The owner is friendly and helpful. At the weekend there were two visiting vans providing hot food. Also a coffee and breakfast stop permanently there. The shop is well stocked with the bits and pieces you might have forgotten.
