  • Peaceful holiday park with fantastic views of Ben Nevis and beyond
  • A five-minute drive from Fort William and the Ben Nevis Visitor Centre
  • Great Glen Way within a 25-minute walk; wifi available on site
The highlight of a trip to the Highlands and Islands? Feasting your eyes on the UK’s tallest mountain range – and that’s exactly what you can do the whole time you’re settling in at the scenic (and aptly named) Ben Nevis Holiday Park. This well-maintained site in Scotland, set by the River Lochy and with lots of green space for kids to play and grownups to wander, also looks out across the Aonach Mor mountains. It makes a brill base for day trips by car, bike, train or foot in the Lochaber area as it’s just over five minutes’ drive from the centre of Fort William. Cycling and walking paths are close to this park – including the famed Great Glen Way along the Caledonian Canal (25 minutes’ stroll) – and a selection of shops and restaurants is just down the road. If you’d prefer not to venture far from base to gather supplies, a store on site sells the basics, camping supplies and local produce, while a café and takeaway serve up a range of light bites and drinks. Other conveniences at this thoughtfully run park include electric hook-ups, a coin-operated laundry room, clean toilets and showers, and laundry amenities. Families and groups are warmly welcomed here for hiking hols (or restful trips).

What customers say

This well-kept site boasts stunning Ben Nevis views, close to Fort William. Guests loved the clean, modern facilities, especially showers, and the friendly staff. Riverfront tent sites were a hit. Minor drawbacks included shower timer length and spotty WiFi. Some campers noted noise during busy times. Highly recommended overall.

Liked Ben Mavis Holiday Park is a lovely place to stay. The views are beautiful, and its location right next to the river makes it even more peaceful and relaxing. A great spot for a getaway!

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked We made a reservation for the camping, but 8/13 of our group got ill due to food poisoning. Therefore, we could not make it to the camping. I contacted the camping and they said they would contact me 'as soon as possible' to arrange a (partly) refund. I rang three times, and they said this three times. However, they never phoned back. We would have liked a bit more hospitality, since they were fully booked the whole week and could easily give these spots to other people. Pity, we think it would have been a great campsite.

Powered grass tent campsite

Liked We've recently stayed at Ben Nevis Holiday Park for 5 days. What an amazing sight. The electric tent pitches can be quite squashed but it wasn't a problem. Amazing views and right on the river edge with some lovely woodland walks. Will definatly recommend and most certainly be returning. Wifi wasn't that good down in the camping field.

Disliked The children's play park was closed due to repairs. Other than this I couldn't fault a thing.

Local attractions

The owners reckon there’s something for everyone around this site, but walkers and cyclists are especially sorted when it comes to activities. If you’re up for a trek, challenge yourself to one of the trails up Ben Nevis, getting intel on which ones to tackle at the mountain range’s visitor centre, just over five minutes’ drive away. If you’re after a lazier lope, amble along the Caledonian Canal from the locks at Neptune's Staircase (25 minutes’ walk) or get your RDA of exercise by nipping in and out of the shops of Fort William (five minutes’ drive). The town has plenty of stores selling mountaineering kit if you need equipment to try out the more intense pursuits – think skiing and downhill biking – available in the area. For a family day out, make your way to the Glenfinnan Viaduct (25 minutes’ drive) and see if the kids recognise it from the Harry Potter films – the Hogwarts Express was filmed crossing this oh-so-scenic bridge. Saving perhaps the best activity till last, top off your trip by paying a visit to the whisky makers at the Ben Nevis Distillery (15 minutes’ walk) for a few drams of one of Scotland’s finest exports.
