Summary AI-generated from Pitchup.com customer reviews

Lovely site, just need to address cafe cleanliness issue.
Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite
Liked Very family friendly, great sandpit for kids, lovely woodland walk where you can watch the sun set from. We liked that there wasn't much (or maybe any) campsite lighting at night as it meant you could clearly see the stars! Great to be able to hire fire pits too.
Disliked Cafe seating area was really dirty - the floor, seat cushions, and tables. We always like to have a drink in campsite cafes and sit and play card games but unfortunately did not enjoy this here with it being so dirty, and it put me off an otherwise lovely site.
Minor point but need more sinks by the toilets in area 3. Also would be good if the site tells you in advance that the ground is rocky in places so you'll need to bring a heavy mallet and strong tent pegs - not the usual types.

Liked Stayed just the one peaceful chilled night. Quiet, friendly campsite. Lots of activities a short walk through the forest. Whilst there was a bar at the activity centre it wasnt open in the evening.

Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite
Liked The site itself is really nice, good views and the festival feel adds to the experience.
Being able to hire a fireplace was good and the Saturday night music was a bonus.
Liked the fact you could pitch where you wanted instead of marked pitches.
Very dog friendly and friendly staff.
Disliked Being honest with my review I appreciate that I stayed on a bank holiday weekend however I feel that needs to be taken into account with regards to staffing levels.
It took 20 mins stood in a queue just to be checked in. No specific queue for this so at one point there were 3 lines of people waiting with food, drinks ect and others checking in with one person trying to man this whilst one other served ice cream.
The following day I went to purchase something from the shop saw the queue and decided based on the day before not to bother waiting as again it was being manned by one person who was also doing ice creams. The staff were very friendly though and were doing their best in the circumstances.
There are not really enough toilets and there we always queues for these and they are quite far from the camping areas unless you pitch closer to them, which we didn't have as an option
There was also lots of small bits of rubbish left in the grass where we had to pitch up before we put our tent up and not much options for pitching as the site was very full.
I would go again but never on a bank holiday.

Clean, friendly & amazing site that I would totally recommend.
Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite
Liked I was amazed by what a fabulous site it was when I 1st drive in. The young lady on reception was very impressive & couldn't do enough to help. I had a brilliant night sleep & I'll definitely come back again as I can't stop telling family/friend's how fantastic your site is.
Disliked No dislikes, I loved my one night stay.

Overall a nice stay. Cleanliness of pitch and showers needed.
Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite
Liked Toilets and pitch size, variety of activites
Disliked Lots of litter. Did a litter pick for half an edge of pitch 2 and filled a carrier bag! Showers too far from pitch 2 & often dirty with no drainage for overflowing water coming from shower tray. Prices of convenience shop extortionate. £3.99 for 6 hot dog rolls for one example! Charges of £4 per person for a nature trail which was self led and poorly signed at some points was a complete rip off. £4 per family would have sufficed, if even that, but £16 for a family of 4 was unnecessary. Would come back but be wiser where to pitch and what to pay for and what not to!

We had a brilliant week and would recommend and we will return
Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite
Liked The space that you have to set up and enjoy is vast. We were lucky to find an area with lots of space for the tent and the cars to park. Toilets and showers clean and close by. Very few queues for toilets or showers.
Disliked The ground is very rocky. If you can get the stronger tent pegs then do.
