  • Family-run site a mile from the Jurassic Coast
  • Footpath leading to the South West Coast Path
  • Shop next door and pubs within walking distance
Guests return season after season to serene Osmington Mills Corner Campsite in its Dorset coast setting just outside the village of Osmington: it's been family run for over 60 years and has Dorset site stays down pat. Spacious pitches, room for kids to run around, and scenic views towards Weymouth four miles away are the secrets of its success, along with a peaceful rural vibe, restaurants nearby, and the site's closeness to the sea, a mile from the beaches of the Jurassic Coast. You can easily access the region's spectacular walks from here too, as a footpath leads from the site to the coast to connect with the South West Coast Path. (Or if that's a no thanks to the walk, a bus stop is just outside the site with services running to Weymouth.) Osmington has toilets, showers, a washing-up area and the means for ice pack freezing and gadget charging. A shop is next door to the site, and pubs and restaurants are within walking distance.

What customers say

A friendly, budget-friendly campground with a relaxed vibe in a beautiful rural setting. Guests love the freedom to pick their spot, spacious grounds, and great value. Basic, clean facilities. On-site shop & proximity to attractions like coastal paths & Weymouth are big pluses. Some mention traffic noise & basic showers, but it's a great base for exploring.

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked This is a great campsite in a stunning location. The site is quiet with lots of space between pitches for the children to play.

Disliked The shower rooms are very basic, but the water is lovely and hot. During busy periods they could become quite dirty with lots of hair and bits on the floor and walls. Defiantly take flip flops to use while showering and a shower mat to stand on after a shower. I saw a lady frequently in and out cleaning both the showers and the toilets so I don’t feel like this is due to lack of effort from the owners/staff but more just a quick turnaround of campers during busy periods.

Liked Views were lovely

Disliked Dogs (alot) not on leads or being watched. So had several issues with noise and dogs wandering.
Noise from the road, seems to be a speedway track for motorbikes at night.

From the manager: Thank you for you're comments it is a strict rule on our site that dogs are kept on leads, and we have a notice to this end.We need it reported to us as we obviously can't see every pitch on our site.We always endeavour to resolve any issues as long as we are made aware at the time

Owners of site were very friendly. No restrictions on leaving site.

Local attractions

Get out onto the South West Coast Path close to the site, try your hand at fishing for Dorset mackerel, canter along the coast on horseback, take a boat out, or up the ante with some kayaking or zorbing… all available nearby. Weymouth, four miles away, has been a famed Dorset seaside spot since Georgian times and these days has stacks to do such as sailing and surfing (several surf schools are around if you're just starting out), a long sandy beach and a Sea Life Centre, miniature railway and RSPB reserve above the town at Lodmoor Country Park. More famed Dorset days can be had with fossil hunting on Chesil Beach, six miles away, and taking in the sight of spectacular Durdle Door at Lulworth Cove, within seven miles of the site. You could also chatter with the inhabitants of Monkey World, see the swans at the award-winning Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, or steam along to the Tank Museum at Bovington, all reachable within 10 miles.
