  • Peaceful site on a smallholding five miles from Bideford
  • Wakeboarding park, surf lessons and amusement parks a short drive away
  • Alpacas, goats and horses to meet on site
Park yourself here for easy access to smashing Devon beaches, the South West Coast Path and the Tarka Trail cycle path, plus watersports lessons and kid-friendly visitor attractions such as The Big Sheep, The Milky Way, Atlantis Adventure Park and Quince Honey Farm. Set within a properly peaceful smallholding, Broad Park Camping and Glamping is a warm and friendly park five miles west of the handsome and historic harbour town of Bideford, where there are independent shops, restaurants serving up local produce, and a pretty riverside quay. While the site lies a handy mile or so off of the A39, it's quiet around this splendid spot. Amenities are well thought out: there's a kitchenette with a microwave, a kettle, a toaster, a fridge and a freezer, in a room with cards, board games and tourist info leaflets. Milk, fizzy drinks, bottled water, chocolate and locally made luxury ice creams can all be bought at the site's small honesty shop. Foodwise, if you want to grill up a gourmet feast, barbecues are allowed; fire baskets are also available for hire, and kindling and logs are available to buy on site for toasty campfires under the north Devon night sky. Friendly dogs are welcome here at Broad Park but must be kept on a lead at all times; for a list of all the dog-friendly beaches nearby, just ask your cordial hosts, who'll be more than happy to oblige.

What customers say

A small, quiet site with beautiful rural surroundings and stunning views. Facilities are consistently praised for cleanliness. Friendly farm animals, especially goats and alpacas, are a hit. Well-maintained with thoughtful touches. Great for exploring, though the approach road is narrow and WiFi can be spotty.

Power optional gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked The site was very pleasantly located , close to attractions & shops. Very clean & organised. My Campervan pitch was conveniently located close to the showers & toilet

Disliked Sadly after 1 nights stay I had a bad fall in my van & had to leave. The owners were very understanding, caring and supportive in this situation.

Power optional grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Me and my 2 kids have just returned from a lovely week at Broad park. The owners were lovely. Everything you would need was there and available to use. The locations was great for visiting all over. My kids loved the animals and had great fun naming them all and feeding the goats. I would definitely recommend and visit again

Disliked My only issue was the wind but obviously this is not anything the owners can resolve. Just be weary that it can get very windy so make sure your tent is pegged in properly.

Power optional grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Beautiful spot amongst rolling hills, goats, alpacas and horses amongst others in the distance. Not too big and not too small. Good amount of space for each plot and a nice bench and table for each.

The ammenities were great also, operating under an honesty policy and that really makes it feel comfortable to us. From firewood, kindling and fire bowls. Some snacks available and coloured fire powder for the kids.

Also having a section to borrow items was so helpful, including a couple of body boards for the kids to use on a beach trip. Again, this instils a feeling of trust and kindness that is so important when your staying somewhere far away for days.

Toilets and showers were not hotel grade, but are very clean and get the job done, with very little waiting time if any. The family/ unisex loos were ideal for the last trip to the loo with kids before bed.

At one point the water had stopped due to a village issue and the owner quickly spoke to every group to update us. It was not out for long and she was fantastic.

Both owners Nikki and Matt, are very approachable and they're on hand if you are in need of any help. It is a beautiful and small campsite and we will definitely go back!

Power optional grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Beautiful site, animals are a nice little bit of entertainment for the kids - goat feed sold in the amenities block.
Facilities are clean and modern, fridges/freezers, microwave, kettle, drinking taps, snacks.. it’s all to hand.
The pitches are spacious enough and flat, picnic bench at every pitch.
A wide selection of shops only a few minutes drive away.
Would definitely return to this site if coming to the same area again!

Liked Lovely clean, small, quiet campsite with level pitches, not too close together. Having a microwave, kettle and toaster in the amenities room was very useful. We also loved having the goats and horses nearby.

Power optional gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked Absolutely loved it here. Good sized pitch, very quiet, good amenities and very clean and well kept site.

Honesty shop was so handy for keeping our son in marshmallows and chocolate.

We hired a fire pit with logs etc and it was good to be able to sit out and chill in the evening.

Kids loved feeding the goats and seeing the horses and alpacas.

Thank you to Nikki for sorting out us staying a few extra nights. We did not want to go home.

Look forward to coming back next summer

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked We can’t wait to come back! Gorgeous setting. It was so quiet and peaceful but with great links to the larger towns, beaches and amenities. The toilets and showers were spotless. I was worried that they wouldn’t be sufficient in number, but was happy to be proved wrong! We all loved feeding the goats and watching their antics.

Disliked Nothing, a great little campsite.

Local attractions

Be sure to bring your buckets, spades and beach towels, because you're going to be getting a lot of beach action with a stay here: just outside the Hartland Heritage Coast, the site gives you very easy access to miles of spectacular coastline and award-winning beaches – a short drive will bring you to the sands and sea of Clovelly, Westward Ho!, Appledore, Hartland and Saunton Sands. Also nearby is North Devon Wake Park, where you can get wakeboarding lessons and bounce, slip, slide and clamber on the aqua park’s trampolines, slides, logs, running mats and climbing frames. Surfing lessons can also be had over at Westward Ho! nearby. There’s a wealth of fun places to take little bloomers to within easy reach too: The Big Sheep, The Milky Way, Atlantis Adventure Park and the buzztastic Quince Honey Farm, where you can investigate the lives of bees through interactive exhibits housing more than 20 colonies using bee cams and looking glasses. If you’re into long walks along scenic coastline, Broad Park Camping and Glamping is near the South West Coast Path, or if you're more of a pedally person the Tarka Trail is nearby too; bikes are available to rent locally if you don't bring your own.
