Liked: The views were lovely, perfect postion. Toilets and shower were very clean. Owners were very friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The pitches were far too close and crammed in. Thankfully the people staying when we did were quiet. Otherwise it could have been alot worse. Expensive for what it was.

Primitive grass tent campsite (solo, adults only)
Liked: This is a lovely sheltered camping field, quiet and peaceful in an “out of the way” location.
Excellent and very clean facilities with flushing toilets and hot showers. Even a little cabin with a kettle and mugs and somewhere to sit out of the elements. Also picnic tables. Bliss for a weary bike packer with a tiny tent.
Owner pleasant and helpful.
Disliked: Nothing although the field is quite sloping.

From the manager: I'm sorry you didn't feel that the Camping experience offered you value for money.
We pride ourselves in having the Campsite in a beautiful countryside setting with giving guests the space to roam in a natural environment.
We provide modern facilities including hot showers, flushing loos, hot water washup facilities, EHU, use of fridges & freezer and designated fire pits, grass football/play area, bike racks all included in your price and hope you were able to take advantage of these when you stayed.
Awful site, wouldn't stay again

Liked: Permitted to have a camp fire.
Disliked: Quite expensive and not easy to find along a VERY narrow road. Late check in (3 pm), and the owner wanted an additional £18 for us to arrive 2 hours earlier. Very small and cramped electric pitches and far too close to other guests tents. We couldn't have our car or trailer on our pitch and couldn't even set up our tent porch. Toilets & showers are clean but rudimentary and quite far from pitches. The owners dogs are running free around the site and one of them left an unpleasant deposit at the side of our tent. Very muddy on walk to showers & toilets.

From the manager: I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay.
We are in the countryside in North Devon which does tend to have some smaller roads, if you are not familiar with the area.
Our website and our 3rd Party booking sites advertise an early check in fee of £6 per person for those who want to check in early and use the facilities as we incur a cost in providing these services prior to check-in time.
All electric pitches are advertised as (a minimum of) 7.5m x 7.5m. The majority are 8.5m x 8.0m which is the size of Pitch 6 which you occupied. During the weekend of your stay all other campers parked their vehicles on the pitch. You were offered to do the same with the alternative option to park it on the hard-standing behind your tent, which you chose.
You raised the issue of the dog deposit at the time and you received an apology from us and it was cleared immediately.
The route from the electric pitches to the loos & showers is 90% concrete or hardcore I'm not sure how you managed to get muddy.
