What customers say
This family-friendly campsite gets high marks for spacious, clean facilities (hot showers, play areas) & helpful staff. Kids enjoy soft play & archery. On-site shop & pizzeria are convenient. Mostly peaceful, but some noise, firewood cost, & minor teen activity/service delays noted. Highly recommended for a fun family trip.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Well organised, good hot showers and toilet facilities. Nice to have a bar/ pizza/shop on site
Disliked Strong smell of manure on neighbouring fields. Location of toilets and dish washing means a long walk from the top of the campsite where we were pitched, these should be better situated.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Highly recommend this campsite, run wonderfully by a lovely couple. We spent 4 rather wet days and nights here in July and, as what I'd call 'not natural' campers, we had a good time. The owners have thought of everything: decent coffee, a well-stocked shop, pizza oven pizza, soft play, fire pits, and booze. On wet days and evenings, kids can enjoy soft play, tie dye t-shirt making, or film nights, and adults can hide in the cafe/bar, open until a reasonable 8pm (8.30pm on weekends). And when dry, there's no real need to leave the site, and if you do you can cycle to nearby spots with ease.
The site is well-maintained, spacious, and quiet. We were fortunate to arrive on a week when they were only at 30% capacity, and our pitch was at the far end of the site, so very peaceful. It does fill up though, so I'd imagine it's a different vibe when full. That said, having chatted to the owners, it sounds like they just work ten times harder when it's full, rather than letting things slide!
Disliked The rain!

Overall an enjoyable stay.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The site was clean and well run, the washing and toilet facilities were really clean and well maintained. Lots of activities for children, definitely more aimed at families. We did the archery, which was good fun and the archery instructor was a good bloke and well organised. Dymchurch and Hythe beaches close by.
Disliked The cost of the wood you have to purchase, l felt was rather expensive.

From the manager: Hi, thank you for your feedback. Being a family-friendly campsite we provide a safe space for children to run free and have fun. We apologise that this isn’t what you were looking for in a stay. Regarding the ‘smelly amenities’, our toilet and shower blocks are checked and cleaned regularly, however we will reinforce this with the staff and find the best possible solution to stay on top of this during the peak times in the summer holidays.
First time camping went well
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Loved how peaceful, spacious, clean and safe the area and the surrounding facilities were. We camped for the first time ever.
Disliked Some adults and children didn't respect the 10.30pm quiet rule and were laughing or running around at midnight. Not good if you want to get a good sleep

From the manager: Hi, thank you so much for your review and these lovely photos, this really helps us out and we’re glad you enjoyed your stay. Having a clean, safe site is something imperative for us so we are thrilled that you enjoyed your first camping trip! We apologise about the level of noise on site, our 10:30pm quiet time is explained to all campers when booking their stay, as well as when checking in to the site. Our staff do a walk-around at night to make sure noise levels are low, however we understand that some of our customers do disobey these rules. Although this is infrequent, we will continue to explain these rules to customers who are noisy, increase our signage on site, and ensure we provide a peaceful environment, as intended. We hope this didn’t affect your stay and look forward to seeing you again at Fallow Fields.
