I’d definitely stay here again. Thanks for the hospitality!
Primitive grass and earth tent campsite
Liked Clean (mainly) quiet and very spacious field. Clean toilets and warm showers, really enjoyed our stay. Friendly owner who’s always around to help.
Cycling from the site was ok, you have to go on a fairly busy road for a little way until you get into the new forest, on our second day we drive for 10 mins and had a fantastic cycle.
Disliked There was one set of campers who had come here for a noisy party so we had to move to a quieter pitch, I guess that’s just camping!!

From the manager: Hi guys I chucked out the noisy campers at 3am. We don’t tolerate noise after 11pm quiet chit chat is fine.
I’m glad you enjoyed the campsite otherwise
Great value!
Ready tent
Liked The ready tent was a great idea, and super value !
Spacious sight.
Plenty of water stations.
The showers were surprisingly good, warm with great pressure.
Large tent and was spotlessly clean.
We were judging at a dog show and Trevor ( warden) opened the showers earlier for us.
Trevor was very helpful.
Will return.
Disliked Although the portaloo’s were very clean the smell of urine was quite strong.
Noisy neighbours in the next field, behind the bushes were quite loud until 1.30am, not a major issue as it was the summer and folk are enjoying themselves.

Disliked Portaloos
We're not allowed fires/charcoal BBQs
Really gutted we couldn't have a fire , despite there being pits available. And not everyone has gas BBQs and we brought charcoal bbq and couldn't use it ??
So that was very disappointing
The portaloos were great when cleaned in the morning by the evening did smell quite a lot which wasn't pleasant

From the manager: Well we all have to be sensible in this hot weather the grass is brown at the moment if your stupid thinking we will allow fires in this weather. This is why there is a fire ban because of poeple like you that set light to our countryside really stupid complaining about safety. Fire pits are on site but not currently available funny that
