  • Small family-run East Sussex site between Hailsham and Polegate
  • Eastbourne, Drusillas Park and South Downs within 15 minutes' drive
  • Access to Cuckoo Trail via footpath; walk/bike on paths to the towns
Take a slice of the easy life in East Sussex with a stay at Peel House Farm – this compact family-run site is surrounded by peaceful farmland, but it’s only a few minutes’ drive from both Hailsham and Polegate for handy access to shops, places to eat and other amenities. You can also reach both towns in a few minutes by bike, along a gravel/tarmac path of a mile, making this a suitable site for those travelling without a car (Polegate has a railway station, and there are bus connections to Hailsham). Even closer than either of those towns is the Cuckoo Trail, a popular 14-mile mostly traffic-free trail that makes a wonderful way to see some of the local scenery. It’s easily accessed from the site via a public footpath. More places to walk? You’ll be in prime position between the South Downs National Park and the High Weald National Landscape, so there are plenty of options nearby. And with the coast just a few miles away as well, you can also take strolls around Eastbourne, Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters cliffs. Pick up supplies while you’re out and about, because barbecues are permitted on site and make a lovely way to finish your outdoor day. There’s a small play area and a recreation field on site where kids can tire themselves out for a decent night’s sleep, and the bathroom block has been thoughtfully kitted out with heating and family-sized cubicles with baby-changing facilities. The covered washing-up area has hot water, and you’ll also have access to wifi if you need it.

Powered grass and earth campsite

Liked Lovely little campsite, very friendly owners, great spacious level pitches. Plenty of shade on hot days.
Good facilities for washing up, recycling, rubbish and bbq coal.

Disliked Showers and toilets were quite dated and showers not overly clean, drains were blocked so you stood in a puddle of other people’s hair whilst showering. Wasn’t overly pleasant.
Don’t forget your shower shoes!

Powered grass and earth campsite

Liked Our first time camping and it was just the perfect site. Annie was fantastic when we had a first aid emergency on our last night. She went above and beyond to help us when my daughter burnt her hand on a marshmallow. Nothing was too much trouble throughout our stay. The field at the back was perfect for the kids to play ball etc without upsetting any of the other campers, although they all seemed to join in anyway. Showers were a lovely temperature.

Disliked Not a dislike but maybe something for the future if you had any expansion plans - just to make the toilet / shower block a little bigger so more can shower at the same time if wanted. It hadn’t been a problem for us though just a thought for the future.

Liked Loved the camping ground, it is cosy and quiet. Even we kept the noise to a minimum and the new moon was spectacular with little light pollution.

The spacing between pitches is generous and the facilities are always clean and functional. Access to the cuckoo trail is brilliant with no road involvement so it was great to wander.

We ordered a take away from The Royal Indian in Hailsham and Johns Fish & Chips, Hailsham. South Downs is amazing with its off road walks and cycle routes.

All in all, love the site. The owner is brilliant, she gave us information about local eateries, attractions…

Thank you, we will definitely be back.

Disliked The temporary fix in the men’s toilets actually isn’t a problem, they are clean facilities, we look forward to seeing the newly repaired roof come next Spring!

Liked Annie is super friendly and welcoming; we were given a fab pitch with our friends as requested. The site is perfect, quiet yet so much room for the kids to play.
Annie even came to the rescue after a little accident, which was so greatly appreciated.
If you want a quiet, friendly, welcoming campsite; this one is for you!

Disliked Not a dislike, a couple more showers/toilets would be my only comment.

Powered grass and earth campsite

Liked Small quiet campsite. Lady on arrival helpful and polite.

Disliked Dated and not very clean toilet area and facilities.
We were pitch 4. Electric hook up one side that we thought was ours not working, too late and dark to report/sort - in the morning realised that pitch 2&3 were using electric hook up 3&4 but this was really far from pitch 4, as positioned inbetween pitch 2&3. Reported by phone in the morning as no-one around but no reply. So paid for electric but didn’t have access to it.
Not value for money, wouldn’t return.

Liked Lovely little place if you want peace and quiet, near to Eastbourne seafront and easy to park, we also went to Sovereign Harbour for the best fish and chips, was about 20 minutes drive. The lady that runs it is lovely.

Disliked At times road noise but it didnt bother me. The showers and loo's are old and could do with updating.
