What customers say
Family-run site praised for friendly welcome & woodland setting. Clean facilities, unique honesty shop, great location for exploring. Some note need for more toilets/showers at peak times, plus pitch/Wi-Fi issues. Highly recommended for a peaceful stay.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Rural setting, exclusive feel to this site, personal toilets/showers to hire, honesty shop, park, woodland walk, fishing lake, site was clean and well kept great that you could have barbecues and small camp fires that you can buy from the campsite - overall I really nice friendly campsite to visit
Disliked No dislikes - wouldn’t have minded chocolate to buy in the shop is my only suggestion

Liked Small and friendly site in a lovely rural location but only a few minutes drive from Battle and Hastings. Great site for families. Liked the honesty shop. Good mix of types of pitches. The bell tents looked fab and would try them next time.
Disliked The only criticism really is sometimes the little separate bathrooms linked to certain pitches could give off an aroma which was slightly unpleasant as our tent pitch backed onto another persons bathroom building and it wafted mainly in the morning when showers and toilets etc being used more
I’m sure not every pitch would have this issue , could’ve been just ours.

Liked The location was good, the team are very friendly and helpful. The pizzas and breakfast are very good quality, we loved the fire pits. Overall we had a good holiday but would not return to this site
Disliked The touring pitches are very small, there are only 4 toilets and three showers for anyone that has not booked a private bathroom
Which is not enough, the big shower needs a refurb as the paint is falling off the ceiling and the door to enter is broken. The road onto site is very tight and bumpy once you come of the tarmac.

Family site with friendly staff.
Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Friendly site with help on hand if needed. Honesty shop available for treats including marshmallows for toasting. If you need to book a fireplace, go to the site's website for a form. The site was very busy but because it is well designed you do not feel over crowded. Wood walk for the dog to be off lead for a while. Hobby fishing lake at no extra charge but no luck this time. The WiFi was not strong but there was an option to buy, which one of us did and it was much better.

Disliked It was busy ( but it was mid summer so obviously going to be busy) most people kept to the quiet time overnight
Wifi was mis advertised - free at reception but had to pay on campsite itself- not well advertised on pitch up

Liked Campsite very secluded. Lots of amenities on site, coffee machine, books, DVDs, snacks, drinks, firewood, kindling, marshmallows, skewers… you name it! Beautiful little nature walk and a lake at the bottom of the site. The staff were incredibly friendly! We arrived quite late due to an accident on the M25, and the staff were great and very accommodating.

From the manager: Really sorry you didn't enjoy your stay or find time to come and talk to us but it is important that some of your comments are addressed:
1. We have 11 lodges all with their own toilets and showers a further 12 camping and glamping pitches with ensuite and 4 toilets and 3 showers in the common areas Making 27 toilets in all on a small site. Far more than any of our nearest competitors.
2. We employ 6 cleaners and 3 full time wardens, our toilets are deep cleaned at 10 am each day and checked throughout the day on an hourly rota, the water in the communal areas mop buckets changed and new cleaning fluid applied twice a day. Despite signs to the contrary some campers especially in the height of the summer holidays, do walk into the shower rooms with shoes on and make a mess that they don't tidy after them selves but it will never be more than a short while before one of our staff will be seen moping it back to cleanliness.
Difficult on that basis to see that the comment made albeit your opinion may not be exaggerated being kind. We try very hard alongside our great team to look after our guests and disappointing to hear when we fail one.
