What customers say
Charming canalside spot! Guests love the friendly owners, level spots, and nearby shops/trails. Facilities are simple but clean. Some noted camper noise and chilly showers. Good value, though a few found rules lax and toilets basic.

Powered grass travel trailer campsite
Liked We stayed in a tentbox and the campsite it really good ground isn't boggy and plenty of space. The surrounding area was lovely walking distance to the canal, few shops and a pub. Highly reccomend if you want to get down to basics and have a peaceful break.
Owner also provided an extention plug for electric and free firepit (limited fire pits available but if you ask him if one is available he will lend you it)
Disliked This is 'wild' camping but something to keep in mind the showers are cold no hot water and the cubicles for the toilets are quite small so if you are tall will struggle to close the door or get changed in them after a shower but this is a small dislike this hasn't put me off booking this site again in the future.

A lovely site with a friendly owner who was very helpful & welcoming.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked A lovely little campsite with lots of beautiful surroundings. The owner was very helpful & welcoming & the atmosphere was great. Everyone was enjoying themselves having barbeques or fires. Lots of different music which did go quiet around a reasonable hour for the younger children. Would recommended the older generation who dislike noise to go to an adults only site as this seemed to upset them. Defiantly a place for families. We will be coming again.
Disliked The toilets/shower block could do with a little TLC.

Thoroughly enjoyable overnight stay minimal room for improvement

Liked Open field

Basic but... electric, plenty of water points, adequate bins and hot coals disposal and chemical toilet disposal, site toilets with wash basin and shower.
Open fires and BBQs allowed
Fabulously attentive owners
Peaceful site and excellent surrounding area
We were lucky enough to have a clear sky and so with minimal light pollution made for a fabulous experience for amateur stargazing
Disliked The toilet and shower block could do with expanding and smartening up; not much leg room in the cubicles only one shower per gender, no disabled access and no hand rails for those with challenged mobility, better lighting inside and out would be an improvement.

The scenery and a little park…
Primitive grass travel trailer campsite
Liked The scenery and a little park which my granddaughter used.
The owner seems ok he came and introduced himself.
Disliked The toilets/showers are a bit tatty. Rubbish left from people all over the site was woken up at half 6 in morning by possibly a jcb behind field what kept bleeping reversing and the banging from the works behind the field. Dogs should be kept on leads we had ours on leads at all times .

Liked The owner was present daily and made an effort to come and say hello every day to everyone there. He met us on the first day and gave us advice on local places to visit.
Field kept immaculate.
Stunning village and canal at the back of the field.
Owner cleaned the toilets himself daily. Always clean with lots of hand wash and toilet roll.
Very peaceful, great for kids and teens.
No loud music at all as I had read in previous reviews just lots of lovely families.
Water is cold but no problem for us, we expected it.
Owner had no problem with us feeding a direct water feed to the caravan to save us filling the tank every day.
Just a really well kept, cosy campsite that does not deserve the negative reviews at all.
Disliked Nothing. It was all as expected and better.
