  • Family-run back to basics farm site in the Lancashire countryside
  • A 35-minute drive from the Lake District; 45 minutes from Blackpool
  • Picnic area on site; pubs, restaurants, and farm shop nearby
Looking to tuck into some time away in the gorgeous Lancashire countryside? Blossom Tree Camping has quite the spot for a rural stay, 35 minutes’ drive away from the Lake District and 45 minutes from Blackpool. This family-run farm is a quiet and spacious patch with some cows and many a place to kick back and relax. Well-behaved dogs are welcome here too, but they must be tethered at all times because the cows aren’t big fans. There’s a picnic area on site when you feel like planting yourself down for some tasty eats. In terms of other facilities, there’s a toilet block with ladies and gents’ toilets and a separate shower block and dishwashing area. Where to source the goods for your picnic, though? Well, no need to worry, as there are lots of food shops, including a farm shop, within five minutes’ drive of the site. Pubs are a common sight too – there are several within five minutes’ drive of the site and many more eateries (restaurants, bars and the like included) in Lancaster, 10 minutes’ drive away. The site also sells pizza cooked in a wood-fired stove. For anything else you may need and finding local attractions, there are friendly faces on site that will be happy to point you in the right direction, whether it’s scenic trails, beaches or crags. Please note that electric cooking equipment and devices such as kettles, hairdryers and straighteners may not work at this site.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Lovely little campsite. The campsite so very well kept and clean. The facilities (toilets/showers) are clean and tidy.
There's a little shop on site that sells a bit of everything, and even better a pizza van on site 😀. Anthony the host is very welcoming and friendly & great at making pizzas.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked What a find! Great location with amazing views over the valley. Easy for hiking. A very warm welcome, even though we were several hours late due to traffic. The campsite has very good facilities: toilets, showers and washing up area, all cleaned daily to a very high standard.
There is a marque for groups to socialise and on weekends they make pizza. There is also a small shop on site for essentials.

Bell tent (adults only)

Liked Great location near Lancaster 7 min drive
Excellent customer service, owners so friendly and make you feel very welcome. Bell tent is fantastic value for money includes- double bed, small fridge for milk, bedding, lamp, kettle, tea, coffee sugar!
Cows and chickens on site
EXCELLENT pizzas and garlic breads made fresh
Very clean toilet and show block!!!!
Little shop on site is great in case you forget anything!
100% recommend and have already booked again!

Disliked No dislikes only recommendations-

Show the photos of the facilities in the bell tent ie there was a lot more than we expected when we arrived. :)

Maybe a door mat or equivalent near the door in the tent just when it’s muddy you don’t want to ruin the tent as it’s so lovely!

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Facilities were excellent, always clean. Site was perfect with enough people for an atmosphere but not too busy. Pitch was a great size. Wood fired pizza was amazing and on site shop has what you might need. Very safe and secure site, great for kids. Liked the cows and chickens on site. Well maintained and organised throughout. Anthony, Lyndsey and Chloe were all great hosts and obviously work hard to keep the site running smoothly. Option for campfires. Would definitely recommend this site to others and will be staying again.

Local attractions

Once you’re all settled in, it’ll be time to plot out your plan of action. Those of you who have hiking at the top of your list will, of course, want to circle the Lake District National Park (35 minutes’ drive) on your map. The Trough of Bowland (25 minutes) has plenty more scenic walking and cycling routes – this time through a remote river valley. Underline Ingleton Waterfalls Trail (35 minutes) while you’re at it – the views are very worth the small trek. Like a little of the city life too? Lancaster (10 minutes) is a good place to get in some sightseeing. The castle and the Ashton Memorial in Williamson’s Park might make it onto your tour, as should a stop in a delicious eatery (or two). Blackpool (45 minutes) is a smaller town, but there’s plenty of entertainment packed in, including a theme park, wake park, beaches and amusement piers. While you’re on the topic of bays, the Morecambe Bay (25 minutes) estuary is a haven for all things outdoor sports: sailing, kitesurfing and even parachuting. If you like to scale cliffs, head to Thorn Crag (half an hour) too.
