What customers say
Remote campsite with stunning mountain/lake views. Friendly owners, peaceful "back to basics" vibe. Basic portaloos, but clean. Great for lake activities & hiking Scafell Pike. Many want to return despite simple facilities.

Loved our time here as a family of four. We’ll be back!
Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked What an absolutely stunning location. The site is really spread out. Surrounded by mountains, it’s just a few mins walk through some lovely woods to the edge of Wastwater where our kids took our inflatable canoe out.
Disliked Loved everything but the only facilities are portaloos- we knew this when booking so it’s fine but if the site had something a little nicer in terms of facilities it would be probably my favourite place to camp in the UK. Definitely not a deal breaker!

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Incredible location!!! Feel lucky to have found this campsite. Access to the lake was wonderful and the surrounding mountains were beautiful. The portaloos were clean and always had toilet roll. The camp was busy but not crowded at all, it still felt remote and quiet and everyone had lots and lots of room.
