Stunning views of delamere forest

  • Family camping with spectacular Delamere Forest views in Cheshire
  • Blakemere Village and Go Ape Delamere both 10 minutes’ drive
  • Traditional pub and mini-farm on site; access to walks and bike rides
What’s not to love about this campsite? Forest View Inn Caravan Park has a mini-farm chock full of friendly animals just waiting to welcome your kids – and there’s something for adults too, as the site has its own pub. Set on the outer edges of Delamere Forest in Cheshire, pitching up here also gives you access to all the forest’s walking and cycling routes. On this friendly, family-run camping and caravanning site, there is a scattering of large, non-electric grass and gravel tent pitches, all with spectacular forest views and surrounded by seasonal wild flowers. The pitches share facilities with the main campsite – they’re no more than a couple of minutes’ walk – and The Forest View country pub is about the same distance away. It opens for food from late afternoon during the week, and from lunchtime onwards at the weekend. Kids are welcome, and there’s always a traditional guest ale on tap. If the weather is playing ball, sit outside on the terrace, and if not, there’s plenty of seating inside. Of course the kids will want to meet the emus, chickens, pigs, goats and donkeys on the mini-farm too, so the chances are you won’t get to stay for long in the pub.

What customers say

Great views, friendly staff (especially Shelly) & a pub. Easy access to Delamere Forest. However, some found toilet/shower facilities dated & unclean, with pitch space and noise also noted.

Primitive grass and earth tent campsite

Liked Animals on the farm are lovely, very friendly and well cared for.
Staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Gorgeous views.

Disliked Pitches are small, appeared like it was overbooked as tents were very close to each other. Lacked privacy.
Hard ground, hard to pitch tent in places.
Facilities lacking - no toilet paper or hand soap.
Bins overflowing on arrival, lots of wasps as a result.
States on description serves food however I was informed on arrival that this has not been the case since Covid so no cooking facilities were brought with us meaning we had to order food to the site.
Small selection of soft drinks in pub, very limited.
Unfortunately there was an altercation between two other camp groups which resulted in arguing from 23:30 until 01:30. They were eventually removed from the pitch however this took some time and was very noisy, lacking sleep and young children on campsite. I feel this went on for too long and should have been addressed earlier as these campers had also been removed from the site pub and allowed to stay longer.
Concerned incase further altercations and no gated area touches so parties would have been able to get back on to the pitch.

Primitive grass and earth tent campsite

Liked Absolutely lovely site, very friendly staff! Toilet block clean and functional. Great water pressure! Loved the animals too!

Disliked Quite close to other tents and quite lively in the evening, made getting our three year old to sleep a bit of a challenge. No fault of the site though, just luck of the draw.

Primitive grass and earth tent campsite

Liked The host was very friendly and excellent with the kids

Good location

Animals onsite are excellent addition

Disliked Bathroom/ toilet - I think it’s time to accept that they need replacing. Having a separate male and female one would make this site a 10/10

Use of some stakes to separate everyones pitches would be useful for both guests and management

From the manager: Hello,
